Since when is stopping in SNN profitable? All the airline who are forced to stop there becasue they fly transatlantic want out of the place.

AC and US only operate in the summer to DUB becasue they cant make money with a stop off in the winter.

DL threatened to pull out of DUB altogether if it wasnt dropped but thankfully only dropped their JFK service.

Im sorry but anybody who think long haul airline stopping off in SNN is profitable needs to take a closer look at what EI and all the other transatlantic operators from DUB are saying.

Aer Lingus havnt expanded as much this year as they have in previous years. Taking delivery of these new A320s isnt going to make them much bigger than they were as alot of 737s were gotten rid of even before the new A320s started to arrive.

They seem to be doing quite well but apprently hidden under all this good news is an airline who is actually loosing money again.

I tihnk this may be one to watch.

Why would an airline as expierenced as BA/Loganair start a route which they know is going to be a complete and utter failure.

Aer Lingus already operate a day return schedule which provides good tmes for both GLA and DUB passengers and their fares are much much more competitive than what loganair are offering. The reason Aer Lingus fares are so low is the 2nd reason this airline will fail on this route and its Ryanair.

I belive Loganair may also be operating ORK-DUB which is a gold mine for Aer Arrann and will hopfully bring down the ridicously high fares that RE charge.

Im certainly not going to turn this into a political issue but LHR-DUB is most definitley NOT a domestic flight. It is an international flight as Ireland does NOT belon to the UK hence we are called the Republic.

I tihnk they are a generally very punctual airline with great fares and they get you there safely and for the prices they charge what more do you want?

I have to agree with T5 about free seating. It is a bit horrible as I prefer to have a seat assigned and I like to wait around until everybody is on board.

I however have to disagree with what you said about EI. I just love them. There is always a great athmosphere on board usually a relaxed one and there fares are great aswell.

I work in DUB and I see this quite alot espeically with bags that have come off aircraft like 737s with dont have containers. So you can imagine the amount of Ryanair bags lying around at peak times. Those containers were an ingenius idea becasue they must have cut down on the number of lost or damaged bags.

The worst thing Ive seen is 2 bags falling off a dolley and getting caught under a wheel and getting dragged up the road.

LOL not a good 2 days for CDG. T5 the long delays were last night but I can imagine the chaos now with one of the runways blocked.

OK Im booked. Leaving Dublin @ 0930 on EI204 and arriving MAN @1020.

Leaving MAN again at 1910 on EI217 and arriving back home in DUB at 2000.

I wont know for definitley if Im going until a week or 2 before with work and everything but a swap can easily be done. Lets just hope I get lucky but flights are booked anyway.
