I was hugely fortunate to visit Bremtarten back in April 2009, completely unplanned, but recieved a welcome all the same.
Fantastic facility and probably the cleanest hangar floor I’ve ever seen and at the time it contained three of the shiniest P51’s this side of the USA. As well as more Yak’s than you could shake a stick at, alongside the FW190 project.

Nice to finally see some pictures from this collection, listed as being in the ‘Tunbridge Wells area’ as this was all we had up till now.
    The SHAR is ZH799
    The Jag T4 is XX841
The Jaguar cockpit section (which we’ve never been able to confirm) looks like its XZ364 as the nose art appears to be ‘Sadman’ which was carried on this airframe during GW1. Additionally the frame has not been seen since 2008 at Everrets.

Definately a big boys toybox !:D

I saw on the news last week that Jaguar’s latest concept car (CX-95??) would have a gas turbine for power. It would, as far as I could gather, produce electricity for the electric motors on each wheel.
    Roger Smith

Somebody mention this. The C-X75…(With apologies for the massive thread creep)

I’m currently working with the supplier of the range extender gas turbines at the moment 😀

    As recieved

Just so we keep things in perspective this is how it was recieved at the Midland Air Museum. I have posted these before but ages ago..

I have been endevouring to bring a better outcome for this artifact for a while and will continue to do so. However since anything of value was removed before it was loaned to the fire service its deterioration is not as bad as it may seem here.

    Mark 12 in action

Mark V – the guy who took that picture was wearing a Hi Viz jacket though!
I know ‘cos he shouted at me to get out the way later when snapping SM520!

Indeed I had to wait ages to get my picture of SM520

    A bit of a curious one this…..

Last noted at Foulness in 2000 as a cockpit section, the latest MAR has it, along with a Dominie from Everetts, at this location in Spain.

Have no idea of the provenance which backs up this identity, however MAR are one of the better groups out there for getting identities correct. That said it seems strange when Spain has a number of defunct F4’s of their own, one would have been sourced from the UK, particularly as its not been positively seen here for 10 years…

Would love to see a picture of what they have !

    Rapide spotted

Just had the lovely sight and sound of the Rapide o/h Stourbridge on its way into the event. A splendid way to start a Sunday morning ! 😎

The Meteor has been moved further into the camp and is no longer visible from outside according to reports I have received.
As I understand it its still to be retained for display duties as the Army are keen to retain some link to the sites former RAF existance.

    Typhoon

The Typhoon is not JR505, which is in storage in the Coventry area with its owner.
The photo is of Roger Marley’s complex composite rebuild, he has it attributed as ‘JP843’ which is the serial number on one of the original wing/fuselage fillet panels the rebuild contains.
Currently not on ‘Demobbed’ but given the completeness of the exhibit we’ll probably list it under the number given…
Similarly Naylan’s Tempest V rebuild which was unveiled at the event has serial SN280 attributed to it and will need adding to our site.

Which Hawk is it that can be seen behind the Tempest and did it get out of the system if privately owned?

As stated its XX320, its still on the MOD’s books and is now with the RAF Scampton museum, according to those who were with it.

Without doubt this unique a/c should be with either the Boulton Paul Collection at Pendeford Wolverhampton or failing that at RAFM Cosford.
    Planemike

Hardly guaranteed a secure future at Pendeford when the current hosting company is moving out the premises in 12 months, with no declared interest in assisting the collection move:rolleyes:

The RAFM hardly raised a flicker of interest when Cranfield disposed of their fleet (how many ended up with them – just the unfinished P1121)

I agree it should be undercover now, but still has as much relevance to be with the MIDLAND Air Museum as anywhere else….
