Okay, a little more thought. Try Halifax.
Picture in the interior shots.
I had seen that photo whilst searching that was what made me thing Halifax. its just those lower brackets..although the photo does have a widening either side but still dosnt quite match..
Shackleton interior looks wrong

The Shackleton looks a good match. sorry no numbers as badly corroded
Would be interesting to see the inside construction.Does anyone have any photos?
The Liberator in this photo appears to have the same shape

Thanks for all your feedback, i have to agree reference the shape as most Aircraft domes i have seen at museums etc are a lot shallower in shape. i feel maybe caravan but like has been said the metal part in the top confuses things, looking at the Halifax on the net the shape does appear higher.but internally it seems wrong. as the 2 bars at the bottom of the dome are missing.
Would anyone have any ideas what the two bar type brackets are for?
I still haven’t managed to Identify this type of Astro Dome, Any Ideas??
Hawker, have heard of Rusky Mig grips being converted and sold as WW2 german grips which fetch more money. I guessed Russian as that is where it came from and the quality just isn’t quite the same as a German one. Richard, very interesting and nice it is dated it only cost me £30 quid so quite happy, Ian I agree with you, looks pretty much like a Yak 3 grip then. Will post the IL2 grip soon, cannot lay my hands on the bomb release button that I aquired seperately, it is a bit of a relic but at least is likely to have seen battle rather than a boxed spare part sitting on a shelf, although I wouldn’t turn it down given half the chance!
£30.. Wow (A find that like you say has been there…) Well done..
Always a great feeling when these finds turn up..but not often enough..

Hi Redhillwings,
Not sure if this helps, but going by my relic Me 109 grip the one on the left in the photo of the 2 grips, the gun button flap looks identical (See photos). interesting to know if there is anything Russian that is similar.
What makes you think Russian?
Cheers Brad..
Someone must of had a camera up there today..
Surely..
The suspense is killing me …
