    Well another flight looming and the bad dreams have started. Last nights was very vivid and I woke up sweating and shaking. I was on an aircraft at night and suddenly a hole appeared in the fuselage and the oxygen mask deployed. At that point, I woke up.

    I know it was only a silly dream but you would think after literally hundreds of flights, I would have my fear under control. I will be OK when Im actually at the airport and on-board but the days leading up to it are always quite traumatic!

    Thanks for the info chaps,

    Just head that there service was not too clever? also I would like to fly BA which is possible as they offer free connections from Man to London. Tried to find out what equipment BA use but it doesn’t say any ideas?

    I’m away on friday to Mallorca.

    A bit off topic but has anybody stayed in the resort of Cala D’or on Mallorca

    Cala D’or is a very nice place, went 3 years on the trot and stayed in the Cala D’or sol, Mallorca is my all time fav place, tried the other Greece and Canaries but no where near as good.

    Why opt for the DC10?, surly they would be better off getting a 767-300 cost less to operate and being a newer type less chance of it going tech. Plus there are loads around onthe 2nd hand market.

    I thought that the DC10-30 was life expired at the end of this year? thats why there -10 were retired first and this one later.

    7 years ago, i did a similar trip, I booked BA LHR-SFO, UA SFO-EWR and BA EWR-LHR.

    As it turned out, the LHR-SFO flight was cancelled because of the Cabin Crew strike at the time, and I was rebooked BA LGW-PIT and US PIT-SFO.

    Nothing wrong with that Itinerary, but I’d suggest that for an itinerary like yours, you may want to consider a return ticket with United, with a stopover on the way back in New York, which may well prove to be the cheapest option.

    the plan is to go from heathrow-san francisco, san fran to Washington, Washington to Boston and on to New York and back to Heathrow. United is coming out the cheapest at 750 per person, but having never flown them was wondering if they are any good.
    They have told me that it will be a 777 outbound and a mix of A320,319;s internaly and a 767 back, do United operate the 747 in to heathrow and I thought we would be coming back on a 777 not a 767.

    when I flew to cologne the other week they would not allow you to check in without any id, so I would say that without it you are going nowhere.

    Agree that the countries are oil rich but I just can’t see this happening, what with the likes of Emirates and such being a monopoly out there already. Maybe an order but bet they don’t get delivered

    When will we be getting the 319’s minibus at Liverpool, would love a go on one of thoes, will they be replacing the 737-300’s?. So it will leave a modern fleet of NG’s and 319.
