…can my request to Last Lightning to keep posting updates about the Lightning as and when he has them stand though please Bruce? 🙂
May I second that ? I’m sure that news concerning the fate of individual Lightnings is of great interest to many on this Forum.
On Saturday does anyone remember the stall in the aerojumble with the covers that were thrashing about in the wind?
It was definitely John Manning of Aviation Artefacts from Hertfordshire.
Glad that throttle box has gone to a good home – it’s been tormenting my dreams ever since ! 😮
Shame you didn get the throttle box martin.Especially after knowing the seriel number of the a/c it came from.
Did it sell or was it still for sale ?
Jusdging by the amount of interest in it, Binbrook, it’s long gone – to a good home I’m sure!:o
Still, I can console myself with the little Lightning panel I picked up very cheaply. A nice display piece ( panel 58P from XS899 )…….:)
Lightning XS895….:(
A couple more pics to hopefully tempt people along today…

Very pleased with the ‘toys’ I bought, but, as always. my dreams will be haunted by The Bit That Got Away……:(

( Sigh ! ) Just didn’t have the ‘readies’ on me for that scale of purchase…….
Well, I was there so early that only one ‘punter’ got in before me…

Some nice bits around…

….and the Paper Plane….

…I think this is what’s meant by a ‘project’….

And for anyone who’s wondering, it is still there, just down the road….

Thanks, TwinOtter – I enjoyed it !
Oh, and I actually bought something I wanted – one of those nice, multi-signed ‘Last Of The Lightnings’ prints which keep getting snatched from under my nose on e-bay….

….couldn’t resist the little Lightning panel, either. 😮
Alarm set for a very early-doors start ; it’s all TwinOtter’s fault
I think that this is what Richard means….

( This is the one in XR728…)
Yes….definitely starting to tempt me…..;)
You’re starting to tempt me……:o
Well done, Bluenoser – I’m glad you made it to Amiens & look forward to seeing your photos…..
Hi Russell
I’d noticed your website was coming along nicely – I’ll be keeping an eye on it….:)
Many thanks for the update. Although naturally we’d all love to be able to view the airframe, it’s good that it’s safely under cover and protected from the elements.
You’ve got a rudder balance weight missing, too!
It was Hell over that Ruhr that night……;)
