Careful now.
That kind of talk could get you grouped up with dear old Ih8spits, and you wouldn’t want that would you;)

Now ain’t that a pretty site:) 🙂

That was the Mosquito I was refering to (TA719). I am avoiding all mention of the TFC Mosquito (TV959).
oh,damn. I’ve just mentioned it:mad:
You may well be right about the Tempest, it did leave an awfully long time ago.
Willow
OK, I’m calm now 🙂
I was just wondering whether this is connected with the Proctor being an ex Skyfame Collection aeroplane. The IWM got rid of the ex Skyfame Firefly I (Z2033) a couple of years back, albeit to a very good home, and the Tempest II (LA607) even longer ago.
Is there an ownership issue with these aeroplanes?
From memory, the Magister, Oxford, Anson, Hastings, and yes, you’ve guessed it, the Mosquito, all came from Skyfame as well.
I’m not paniccing, just wondering

Is that a Canadian Navy Sea Fury? Wow
Guzzineil, do you have any details of the shot?

DOUGHNUT,
although I agree with your principles, I wonder if, in this case, the existing owner is only prepared to part with the airframe to someone who will carry out his dream and make it fly.
While I agree with you that it should be on display on British soil, the time for that passed when the RAF sold it. It is now privately owned, not state owned and sadly, as we all know, that means that it will go where the money, or in this case prehaps the right owner, is.
Even if that is overseas.
Willow
Ashley,
I assumed you were joking about the Proctor being exported.
Clearly, you aren’t. What wisdom was behind this, do you know?
If the Proctor does not fit with the IWM policy, then there is something seriously wrong. It might not be exciting, but it IS a genuine British WW2 aeroplane which carried out an important, if not glamourous role.
Much saddened:(

This is a joke, surely.

OK lads and lasses, lets get our act together,
for Moggys sake:D

Sounds about right, doesn’t it

I’m sure this is the ex-Coltishall Gate Guard, XM172. It’s an F1A in a red and white scheme.
It also appeared in the static at a recent Farnborough show. It is not in terribly good condition. Parts have been sawn through to make the aircraft moveable.
I am not aware of its current whereabouts but I do remember that it was reported at Booker once. Maybe it went back there.
It was replaced on the Coltishall gate by a Plastic Jaguar (or is it a real Jaguar?)

Or in the beaus case to keep it in the country. Flypast could collect the money, then they could sponcer the aircraft, but the aircraft would be owned by us?
We could all become shareholders in it.
To keep DOUGHNUT happy, the finished aeroplane could be based with a regularly open museum, but one with a runway long enough to operate it.
Coventry springs to mind, but how long is the remaining runway at East Kirby? Cosford and Middle Wallop would also be suitable.
We’d need a pilot though.
Moggy, do you have a twin rating?
Willow
😀 😀 😀
Maybe if all of us here on the forum club together, we could buy it. 🙂
Between us we’d certainly have the enthusiasm and the expertise to restore it!!
Possibly not the cash though.
HEY… wait a minute.
It’s a Flypast Forum, maybe Key Publishing would sponsor us.
What do you say???????

I know, I work with the damn things:mad:

This might explain why those Suzuki 4×4 things with the Rhino on the back keep ramming into things:)
