This might explain why those Suzuki 4×4 things with the Rhino on the back keep ramming into things:)

Aren’t Pumas supposed to chase Antelopes? They do on all those nature programmes!
(apologies if you car is a Cougar – the same applies to those)

And I thought I was the one who was late with the cornflakes 😀
It’s the Canadair CL44-O Guppy. The one that used to be with HeavyLift many, many, years ago and is now registered 9G-LCA.
It’s also been N447T and 4K-GUP so it’s been around.
Rumours were, that it was at Southend and would not fly again. But hey, that’s just rumours!!
Anyone know any different?
Willow
Don’t Waddington realise that if said aeroplane actually gets there, it won’t be serviceable enough to leave for months!!
This will be fantastic, if it gets there. Where is it at the moment? Last I heard it was at Southend.
Thanks for pointing that out DOUGHNUT, if this one turns up then I’m definately going.

“Didcot also has the best preserved steam centre in the country”
Er, dhfan. What about The Great Central at Loughborough?
Their engines actually haul trains as well, instead of just sitting about the yard looking pretty 😉

….with a hook on the tail fin so that you can hang it from your museum hanger roof…

Thanks Ashley, for putting the record straight.
I think it’s about time I visited Manston, and with all the history on display, even the Fiancee might come along (but I’m bringing the camera as well).
Willow
I would imagine that given the last of the requests, the first two would come naturally.
There isn’t really a ‘normal, boring’ French scheme for a Spitfire!!
It is certainly different, and represents an important part of the Spitfires history. Nice one Mark12 🙂 🙂

Sorry!

Ashley,
in defence of DOUGHNUT, I think it does matter whether it’s you own photograph or not. Surely that’s the whole point in owning your own camera. If not, you could just buy books full of photos, and not bother going to see real aeroplanes at all.
Very few of us will ever get the opportunity to take a photograph that no-one else can take, we do it because we enjoy it.
As for the museum, everyone wants something different from a place like this. My fiancee would be totally uninterested in looking at ‘just another aeroplane’, but would be fascinated by the material and history surrounding it. In my original comment I was not suggesting that the material should not be there, purely that it should IF POSSIBLE be arranged so as not to obscure the aeroplanes. I realise that space is often a big issue with small museums.
As I have never visited (yet) I don’t know the layout. Why is it not possible for the Spitfire and Hurricane to be moved? Do they need to be dismantled to be got out? If so, then it would be foolish to do so just for one or two days, as it would cause unnessecary stress and possible damage to the airframes
