I flew over his wedding and he didn’t notice!!
Sadly, the service is traditionally held inside the church, otherwise we’d have seen you…….
Did notice the T6 a bit later but for some reason I didn’t have my camera!
You need to look up more, we came over your way a few weeks ago….
Please feel free to try to convince the wife that I need to spend more time standing in the garden looking up………….
As regards the flag – Vertical stripes = France, Horizontal stripes= Netherlands
Yep, thanks, that’s what I thought. Unfortunately the flag was hanging straight down (as perhaps you would expect when it’s fixed under something which is being propelled by the wind) and I couldn’t get my head around which way it was actually hanging – if you see what I mean! Mind you I’d had a couple of beers at this point, which probably didn’t help!
Many thanks also to Y11F for the P51 info, first time I’ve caught up with that one 🙂
P51D Mustang Eastbound over the Woolpit Steam Rally at 13:37 Saturday
Couldn’t tell which one but didn’t look like Janie

P.S. Later in the afternoon (4pm) 2 Spherical Hot Air Balloons came over Ipswich from the South East. They must have come across the Channel/North Sea. One was yellow and had a German flag, the other one was white and had a French flag (or possible Dutch?). Don’t know much about cross channel Balloons, does this sort of thing happen much? (apologies if this is not Flypast territory!)
Ipswich update………
Chipmunk in full Red and White RAF (or possible Army?) scheme heading Northeast at 14:00 yesterday.
BBMF trio (first time since I moved here nearly five years ago!) heading for Southend at 14:40 on Sunday. Hurri looked like PZ865 but the Spit was quite distant so I couldn’t tell which it was. Even the Mrs was impressed!
Finally, going back to last Wednesday (20th) P51D (possibly ‘Jumpin Jaques’ given the stripes under the wings) heading North at 12:35. Came straight over the house and sounded great. James(3) loved it. Thanks for that:)

Merlin Spitfire Northbound over Peterborough at 13:53 yesterday (Wednesday).
Is this possibly one of the two Spits mentioned above?

Road-runner Luscombe
Dark Blue Luscombe (or just possibly a Cessna 120) on a trailer heading West on the A14 near Ipswich on Wednesday afternoon (about quarter to five). Dismantled on a trailer.
Unfortunately I was Westbound at the time, so didn’t get much of a chance to look!!

Trislander G-BDOS operated by ‘XP’. It was a local flight from Duxford flying over Cambridge and Stansted sometime in the early eighties.
My second and third flights were in the same aircraft, this time from Luton to Staverton (for an Airshow) and return.

Take a look at post 1472 on the previous page. This might ring some bells.
Many thanks Propstrike. That’s the one I saw (or if not then it was something very very similar!).
I guess the nose was long enough for a nosewheel Beech after all!!
Like I said, it was pretty high when I saw it (excuses, excuses!).
Just a shame I missed the second one that MarkV refers to………..
Cheers

Definately a tailwheel Beech. Looking at photos of similar aircraft, the nose wasn’t long enough for what I saw to have been a nosewheel version.
It was a similar nose and cabin style to the ex-Loganair Beech in the East Fortune museum.
