No one knows the cause of both accidents. Both of you are being idiots.

This is a big catch, the canted twin tails invariably suffer from buffeting,
with F-22 reportedly being restricted to max M1.82.
    What can be done ??
Would it be possible to move them forward ?

Wouldn’t putting them closer to the center make them less effective?

Lets hope ATD-X goes well enough that it comes to fruition.

So it has the performance of a Super Bug/Rafale/EF2000. Stealthier than the F15SE and other LO designs but not F-35 level. And AA loadout is F-35 level but AG is less because of ROKAF vs USAF (KF-X vs F-35) doctrine. Looks solid for a country that has gone.

Is this forum infested by Chinese mods? Then sure, I probably wouldn’t last a week.

If not, I will be around as non-Chinese mods don’t have any problem with me.

Considering your track record I doubt it.

    You are right.

The model in the picture is said to be an old one hanging out at the KFX research center for public reception. The current one, which is yet to be unveiled, is said to be longer than the F-35.

The sources explicitly confirm an internal weapons bay as in F-22 and F-35, not a CWB or a weapons pod.

The KFX was too large for Turkey’s liking. Turkey’s had something small in mind, Gripen sized.

Any bets on how long he lasts before getting banned?

no sir, the model does not seem to have room for a bay if the size of those missiles are correct. especially with those semi-recessed missiles in the way.
no wonder Turkey left the project.

Those missiles would be pretty bad if you know…they didn’t detach.

So KFX is made with Lockheed then? Judging by the intakes ( F-22-ish) does it means they go for M2 performance?

F-X3 hasn’t been decided so no foreign help other than Indonesia.

    No weapon bays ?

C103은 현재 LIG Nex1에서 개발중인 한국형 AESA(Active Electronically Scanned Array) 레이더가 탑재되며, 시제기 완성 후 차후 개량을 거쳐 동체 중앙에 AMRAAM(Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile)급 중거리 공대공 미사일 4발 또는 중거리 공대공 미사일 2발과 1,000 파운드급 JDAM(Joint Direct Attack Munition)을 탑재할 수 있는 IWB(Internal Weapon Bay)를 가질 예정이다.

KF-X C103 is planned to have a Korean AESA being developed by LIG Nex 1 and after the prototype is finished it will have Internal Weapons Bays carrying 4 AMRAAM class medium range air to air missiles or 2 medium range air to air missles and 2 1000 pound JDAMs.

Even if the J-20 will get TVC Nozzles. The Nozzles are so close from each other.
It will not be able to mimic all the Flanker manuveres to the same extend.

I guessing the Chinese if the do use TVC it will be 2D unless they need more yaw ontop of those massive rudders.

Change the word “Turkey” to “USA”, take out the shared marketing and I think you have the brief for a low cost 5th generation F-16 replacement project that’s already been tried by an American manufacturer. Look what happened to that proposal! 🙂

OK, the US 5th gen F-16 replacement was probably not truly lightweight…

If Turkey wants to give it a try, great, but does Turkey have the capability to design a 5th gen fighter?

There is news that they are working with SAAB but for what and until when is not known. (Initial feasibility study VS full blown development)

And Korea’s effort the KF-X keeps on changing from 4.5 to 5th gen

    http://www.ihs.com/events/exhibitions/farnborough-2012/news/july-11/KAI-trainer-helo-programmes.aspx

(Third para from bottom) I think he is playing down incase we don’t get enough tech from FX-3 but the goal is still 5th gen.

Also honestly I would satisfied with a fighter that’s as indigenous as the Gripen and comparable to the other Eurocanards but of course 5th gen is the dream.

#2 – that would look great, a bit like Rafale on steroids and stealth pills

The wing blends in with the body too well so it looks a too wide.
