Yea it was, the aircraft usually had their landing gear down when they passed, and they were very close, not overhead, about 100 metres to the side of the pitch
Dont Spanair operate them (someone mentioned a Spanish carrier). Iberia may operate them too, I seem to vagely remember flying on a 717 with IB.
Just wondering, howcome you can get so close to the runway? Arent there barriers or anything? Which airports can you do that at?
I know there are two air hospitals. One uses a L1011, the other a DC10.
Hi mate, enjoy.
Have you tried the website? Just an idea.
If that is so, and im not saying youre wrong, but I was always under the impression that until recently Boeing were far more popular among airlines. Obviously I dont have the facts, so im probably wrong, but I woudlnt have thought that the A300, A310, A319/320/321. A330 and A340 would have sold any where near as much as the B707, 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777 (nice to see I know their numbers isnt it:D ). With the popularity of the 737 and all the other Boeings, I would have thought that really, Airbus has never really rivalled Boeing until lately (due to the passenger interest in cheap flights, no offense though Airbus:D ).
I may be the same as Kabir now, bit of an ambush by airbus lovers coming!!
I dont know about the facts, but if all you said is true, then im sure the 777 will do far better in the long run due to fuel efficiency
Not only is the runway a bit short for a 747, the wake turbulence it would produce would knock the houses over! Also, a weee bit of damage may be done to a 747’s wings there!
Hmmmmmmmmmm, how could I put it, maybe, a bit too purple?:D
I think the body is ok, but dont like the way the engine colours are different to the purpule on the body.
I dont know about the rest but the one operated by United should be good if its a 777. We flew to Washington from Heathrow at christmas on a United 777, and then from Washington to Denver on a United 777, and on the way back we flew a United 777 from Denver to Chicago and then Chicago to Heathrow in a United 777 again! The inflight entertainment is excellent, and also on channel 9 (if I remember the channel correctly) is Air Traffic Control. On every United flight they have channel 9 on the frequency the captain is listening too. Its excellent, but it is at the captains discretion whether its on or not.
Enjoy your trip!
I cant help you im afraid, but its a shame if they are replacing them. Come on 757, hold out!!
Whatever it is, they obviously like British Airways, look at the registration (sp-pbd, speedbird?):D
If anyone can get this photo please post it here on airlinerworld, I wouldnt mind a look.
Cheers guys,
Mark
Im a millionaire 😀
