Sad news in my opinion about the fading out BAE146’s from Druk Air. Im not a fan of the A319/320/321, so im dissapointed. Plus concorde is sad news. Overall, a sad past month it has been.
sorry, wasnt Lufthansa, its a charter. Flight deck windscreen
nice photo. dont the security people stop people from stopping next to the runways etc?
i like number 4 mainly, then 2, but i dont particularly like any of them that much. much prefer the american airlines type, BA landor, or British Caledonian
I dont like it that much. It doesnt look all that bad though. Also, being extremist right wing im probably biased.
Im a bit of a traditioanlist. I do agree that pilots should be allowed to take their ties, hats etc off in the cockpit once the door is closed, but I think they should have a smart uniform, smart cap and look as best as they possibly can to try and keep the proffesional image that they have. Without the caps, ties or jackets a pilot would not look anywhere near as proffesional.
From what I remember, half of Kai Tak is now a GO KART race track, no idea about the other half though.
EAL, the 727 I would have thought could just about make it to the UK, im not sure. As for the 737-100/200, I seriously doubt it!
I would start one called Wilsonair. (my name, Mark Wilson!).
It would not be low cost, but it would not be expensive either, sort of in the middle. I would fly to destinations such as Alicante, Valencia, Rome, Paris, Schipol etc from Luton and Manchester. My fleet would consist of
Two Boeing 757-200 (for the more popular flights)
Five Boeing 737-300/400
Five MD80’s (second hand, to cut costs :))
No it wasnt the thing right on the end of the wing (which is on the picture). Its a small thing that appeared from underneath the wing , small though, and it was on one of the three big spoiler like things, but they arent spoilers. Someone said flap canoes, i think thats them because they look like canoes
Actually, thinking about it, it must be the landing light!!
I agree with tenthije. But not only that, another reason the airline business has lost its glamour is because about 20 to 30 years ago, human rights were only just kicking off properly. Back then, the airlines had the prettiest stewardesses, where as now because its discrimination the airlines have to employ some ‘fat todger from the local doughnut shop’. That has made flying far less glamourous. Not only this, but the low cost has created a whole new thinking to the airline world. For example, British Airways have one staff to every two passengers. Ryanair on the other hand have one staff to every 30 passengers. thats cost saving for you, but if ryanair and other budget airlines keep ‘biting the fingers’, in other words pushing the limits of the aircraft, crew and other people then something will go wrong unfortunately. The maintenece and other things should be done far better than the low cost airlines do maintain their aircraft. Now im not pointing a finger at any airline (cough eas… cough), but I have very good first hand experience from that last sentence.
Note: Trijet fan I am.
Sad to see the MD11’s being phased out, but it happened to the L1011’s and all the other magnificent trijets.
Hehe, I couldnt remember Granada having 3 or 4 runways, and lets face it, its not a big airport. Sorry, bad guess 🙁 . Better luck next time to Saab too!
Well, it isnt Malaga, and there is really only one other pocibility, Granada. I think its Granada, which is approx 5 minutes north of Malaga, it does look like it.
