Well done to those involved and thanks for sharing Peter!
Duly signed.
The least we can do, thanks for bringing this to our attention Richard.
If, If it happens….I am thinking it is the Canadian B35, and not Jerry Yagens !
Short story:
The airworthy Canadian one is the B35 Bomber version, and the one that was built in New Zealand, the fighter bomber version went to the USA with Jerry Yagen.
Stanstead have always been co-operative when we have arranged flypasts for memorial occasions at the old airfield.
Maurice Hammond performed over Hunsdons Memorial dedication in May 2005, an hour later the BBMF Lancaster made 5 passes, We were cleared for the BBMF again in 2012 and Peter Teichman put on a cracking display in February this year for the Amiens 70th memorial.
Oh well, fingers crossed and sorry for the thread creep 🙂
As I have said before, if this ever happens ….please fly it once, just once, down the course of the old main runway at Hunsdon please 🙂
This will be a particularly worthwhile dig especially for any surviving relatives of Sgt Keogh. Well done so far to those involved.
Absolutely amazing…
but I am concerned about the possibility of pollutants having leached into a water source 🙂 🙂
Try the owners of Panshanger airfield, Hertfordshire. The airfield closed last week and there are quite a few Blisters that would be available since the lot is going to be bulldozed for housing.
Here are some examples, images taken last week..

I for one look forward to your images FP, not having seen the aircraft in the flesh yet 🙂
I have been lucky to see them twice, low & right over my house departing from an overfly of North Weald, I missed them at Sywell airshow due to weather, watched them at Little Gransden from the roadside, and finally spotted them en route to Duxford just to the west of the airfield I haunt..Hunsdon.
A magnificent sound and a wonderful sight…Thank you CWH and the BBMF. Best wishes for a safe flight home to Canada for the aircraft and all involved in this epic visit.
99.9% certain 😉
Bang on…. I would say Castle Camps too….
I’m thinking of emailing my MP and asking him to ask the PM to make a statement of thanks to Canada, in Parliament, for assisting in the remembrance of the lost crews of Bomber Command. Do you guys think such a request is silly, or worthwhile?
I for one think it is a great idea, in fact the whole Commonwealth should be thanked.
I suppose most of it ends up on auction sites after they have deactivated their finds. So much equipment and parts being found in Russia, and collectors willing to pay top prices too
