    T J Johansen,
It was still mounted on the pole the last time I passed by the old Croydon airport.

I will have to have a look at some of the quarterly newsbooks the EAG sent out to members.
I remember being on the Butlers Farm Ju188 dig but there were one or two smaller site investigations of this type at other locations.
We dug the infamous JU88 at Pitsea marshes though 😉

I only saw it 2 times. Once at a duxford show, all i remember is that it was wet and i was sick after eating some food.

That would have been Duxford then 😉

A Control Column., either from a Mosquito or a Lancaster.

A propellor blade..any blade from a World War Two aircraft, British, German or American.

A piece of B-26 Marauder from a 391st BG aircraft. This to mount and give to a friend in the USA who is a Historian with the 391st.

So many things from aircraft I would love to own and display at home, far too numerous to list 🙂

    Damn, Damn, Damn,
I drove past Duxford today and I spotted the Dakota parked near the Superhanger, I did not have time to stop so missed them all.
Why is it that work interferes with the good things in life 🙁

the sensation was invoking much older and very powerful memories. Very strange. Bob

Yes it is a strange sensation, I have never asked anyone who actually works with either ‘Jane or the ‘City Of Lincoln’ if that after all the time spent with these aircraft, does that ‘feeling’ ever fade or go away with familiarity?.
I know one or two who work in this enviroment post here, perhaps they could give us an answer to that.
Welcome by the way mantog 🙂

3(F) Sqn will hand over the Squadron Colours to 3(F) Sqn Typhoon and be re-commissioned as 800 Naval Air Squadron.Brian

Sorry if I am missing something Brian, could you clarify?.
The way I am reading it 3(F) squadron becomes a Naval air Squadron

Two accounts I can relate to you, one is the Bombing of Royston Hert’s where the Dorniers gunners strafed the streets after the attack. The other was an attack on the gasworks in St Ives cornwall, after said gasworks were targeted, the enemy aircraft strafed the beach at Porthmear. The wifes father (Born and raised in St Ives) was on the beach at the time as a young lad. Relating this tale to my neighbour he said he remembered that incident as he was on the same beach as an evacuee from London!.

Why oh why cannot the media get even the most simple facts right 🙁
‘and Mr Henshaw will be joining the formation in this 2 seater version, the only one flying in this country’
I am sure Caroline Grace would have something to say about that as would a certain Mr Day!.
