It stands for issue (drawing issue) and as there are multiple part numbers ie sub-assembly and the part itself there would be an issue number for each.
For example an undercarriage torque link would have a part number for the bare link, with an issue number and then a sub-assembly which would include the link, bushes and grease fittings. There would also be a multitude of other numbers indicating batch number, heat treatments and any non-destructive tests the items has been subject to. A common mark is PFD in a circle for Penetrant Flaw Detection.
Hope that helps

Bottle is possibly a fire extinguisher with both empty and full weights stamped on the head, agree with probably American supply due to pipe fittings.

Hi Juraj,
The info is taken from an early 1950s Smiths Aviation Instruments and Equipment catalogue and covers most flight & engine instruments and equipment of the period and includes info on Desynn system along with installation details for most of the instruments/equipment. There are a few missing pages but it’s mostly complete, and also contains a price list for instance the gearboxes above were priced at £1 15s each!

Dave
Tacho gearboxes
Hopefully the info on these Smiths data sheets will be clear enough to read.
If not I can scan them and e-mail if required.
Smiths p/n for right angled gearbox is 10GB for non-reversing type and 12GB for reversing type
Hope that helps

Hi there,
I’ve got 6A/3005 listed in AP1086 Sec 6A dated Sept 1966 as Kirby Cadet T3
Hope that helps

Dave
I’ve got 818FG listed for Hastings 1 in 2 copies of AP1086 Sec 6A, it equates to 6A/2057 and is a fluorescent gauge.
It could be that 849FG is a civil version (maybe for the Hermes) and the only difference is the needle??

Dave
Hi Anthony,
You may be needing some of the AVW-50 tags as shown in the attached picture.
Unfortunately I don’t have any, but they are available here: https://www.lasaero.com/products/article/F01GI51B9

Unfortunately it doesn’t appear in any of the copies of Sec 6B I have, either the reference don’t go as high as 3826 or it’s just not listed.
I have done a little digging and it is covered by NSN 6685-99-198-5935, or the Munro part number of D10A295-11GA.
Munro are still going so it might be worth dropping then a line http://munroinstruments.com/ you never know the enquiry might land on the right desk.
So, a bit more information but not really any further forward!

Dave
