……she whinges when I try and take her hoodie off sat in front of the tv lol.
…turn the heating up, tight git!:D
Sorry she’s gone, but I still find myself fast forwarding her bits of the film. I was eleven when the film first came out, she did not leave a lasting impression on me. The aeroplanes were the stars and watching a 109 flying at 20′ beating up some Hurricanes at the beginning or Spitfires taking off during a raid and one hitting a bowser or the hangar at Duxford blown up or the emotion of HeIIIs shot down without loss, the German front gunner having tomato sauce sprayed onto his goggles (it looked like blood when you’re eleven), Spitfires dancing across the silver screen knocking down the hun. It all looked so real at the time and was one of my aviation pivotal moments.
It wasn’t that I did not like SY per se, but the role she played.
If it was to be done again I would hope they would include:
instead and focus more on the Battle.
just my thoughts….(now where’s that tin hat?)
(need a bigger boat!:D…..took awhile)
Just a thought…………….I need to ghost the Nimrod now!!:D
I did a scribble once of RAF St Eval church and a Spitfire (ghost) etc
(it looks better in the flesh!)
……he’s only trying to wind up Moggy C……….

When I see a jet engine on ebay for £2,000,000 I realise its probably over priced by £1,990,000 and cannot think who would pay that sort of money.

Slight reduction in price:

the Spitfire on its own, the Landrover & caravan together but not all 3:D:D.
aaaaah………………..roof rack!!
Spent many hours in various ‘Fat Alberts’ 82/83 down Stanley.
Never dreamt I’d see them being scrapped, sort of thought they would go on like Daks, ….forever.
Would be shameful not to save at least two. Hope one day that we wont be sat on this forum in a few years lamenting the loss of the RAF C130.
Baz
…..nice beaver.
………..oh, and don’t call me Shirley.:D
Judging by the comments, people feel a bit tricked with the result.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying and was just using that engine as an example because of its fame.
We’ve had our golden moment with ebay which were the first 2/3 years.
Perhaps Andy’s Aerojumbles will be the answer.
We just need to get out of this recession.
