It’s the ‘nanny state’ that you’ve heard about in just about any area you care to look at in our drab little lives over here in UK. We are simply too regulated.
Sorry folks, I’m getting very cynical in my old age… please somebody present me with something – any fact at all – that will counteract this!
As I read this thread, in the background the TV ads were urging me to contact them if I have had a slip or a fall recently and to gain compensation.
These ads are on every few minutes, all channels, all day.
Last year I had a coach load of visitors at my little museum and one failed to negotiate a curb and fell in a heap. Although she dusted herself off and appeared embarrassed by the whole thing, I overheard another person advising her to sue!! This same person went on to take photographs not of the exhibits but the path and curbs.
I closed the museum permanently soon after and barred people from the garden.
To answer you, no I cannot give you any facts to counter this.:(
Back on topic, never saw it flying, it didn’t reach Cornwall.:(
