I see why you positioned your Spitfire there. 😀

We ran out of time and weather to continue, there are issues with the undercarraige robustness and several other things need seriously ‘tweaking’
It doesn’t look bad but there is a long way to go before it becomes ‘useable’

There’s a spare undercarraige on the James May Spitfire at Cosford……………
Boomps-a-daisey, it’s enough to make you weep! (BoB 1969):o
I have completely and utterly blacklisted them, I will never fly ryanair so long as I am breathing. I will never let my family fly ryanair. If ryanair took over the world I would go back to my old vocation. I would never fly for ryanair, period. If they started long haul services to Australia (A place I love going) and they charged me a penny all in, I would still never ever fly with them.

Will you stop beating around the bush and tell us what you really mean:D
looking great.
what period are the roundels from?
May/June 1940, I believe 92 Squadron were the only ones to fly with these fuselage roundals.

If anybody is near Bodmin in Cornwall this coming Saturday, I’m there with the exhibition in the car park at Sainsburys, all day. ( in aid of RAFA )

Taking one of my Spitfires to the local car wash:dev2:

……most of that will buff out…….
having saved it and looked at it closely, I’ve changed my mind. It is real, but set up. The pilot has a bit of a belly, and is certainly not wearing flying gear. The hand is clenched.
I’d vote for crash site some days post crash (therefore a scrap scene), and a couple of idiots mucking around in it.
Fin removed for use in a Squadron bar? Possible visible gunfire marks on the elevators, but access panels removed properly? What is in an Me109 behind the seat that would be of any use to anyone? That section has been hacked away. Tail wheel has gone, but not the leg. Prop damage is consistant with an engine running strike at a reasonable speed. hmmmm
I think it is a genuine period photo, but is it me, or does the field behind the aircraft look as if it could have been added by the censors? Could this be a crash at an airfield? Has anyone identified the aircraft and unit yet?
Have to agree, I have quite a few photos from this period taken by German military personnel using private cameras, they range from perfect to not so perfect (!) never the less still interesting.
The Germans would never leave a dead comrade in the cockpit and strip out a machine around him for bits. More like a camera shy soldier ducking down to avoid his picture being taken.
Not a particularly good quality photo ( certainly won’t get 1,000 euros for it )
I wouldn’t pay more than 50 euros for this on a good day.
just my thoughts

Must have been an interesting pre-flight brief:rolleyes:
…and it was rather bloody good!
A nice, good old-fashioned sci-fi action-adventure, like they used to make! 😀
(and I didn’t even find Simon Pegg annoying…!)
Did you spot the Sea Vixen overflying Vulcan (the planet:rolleyes:) near the beginning?
good film:)
