Nice work Nick.
When you say help out with seat cushions are you looking for replacements or a pattern in order to make new ones? I must confess to being a bit ignorant when it comes to Pembroke / Sea Prince interiors but if they are the same then I know Classic Flight have a spare airframe and also that XL954 is due to have some interior care soon so it maybe possible to make one available for use as a pattern or perhaps join together to get some new ones made at a better price? If you like I can bring this up at Coventry on Saturday, let me know the position.
“I should have asked for more money…..”
For those of you with an interest in Rapide G-AKRP, she made her pleasure flying debut at Sheffield on Thursday. 🙂
Dont forget next Saturday (28th) is our ‘Back To The Forties’ open day. Plenty of lovely aircraft to view and fly-in, as well as MG cars and the Band of Brothers re-enactors.
Blue Robin if you dont post on this thread by the end of the weekend I will give you a ‘gentle poke’ to remind you of this event! 😮 😀
Hm, interesting. Well my favourite aircraft are (in no particular order), Chipmunk, Dove/Devon, J3/L4 Cub, Hunter, Venom, Vampire, Percival Provost, Tiger Moth, Twin Pioneer, BAC Lightning, Heron, Sea Vixen, Chrislea Airguard, Meteor, Rapide, Austers, Turbulent, Dakota.
Well Classic Flight have all but the Cub, Provost, Tiger Moth, Lightning, Heron, Sea Vixen, Airguard and Turbulent. I think they still plan to get a Tiger Moth and there’s an outside chance the Heron might do some work for us, so I’ll take them of the list. The Tiger Club cant be beaten with there Turb display so I guess that leaves me to buy :
J3/L4 Cub
Percival Provost
BAC Lightning
DH Sea Vixen
Chrislea Airguard
I would then of course hope to operate them alongside Classic Flight (god bless’em), which gets all my fav’s covered! 😀
I wonder whether you’d get away with this at Heathrow today……:D
No – more likely at Stanstead with easyjet! 😀
Excellent news, well done. I was beginning to resign myself to the fact that taxiing was all we were ever going to see it do. Look forward to seeing her in the future.
They’ve slowed it down so Cub pilots can keep up! :diablo:
ROTFL 😀 😀
P.S. Think its the slowest its ever been tonight. 🙁
You should have been there Friday, not only did we get the whole F15 thing but the F86 showed all them warbirds how to put on a proper show! 😀
Really cracking photos, great lighting. Thanks for taking the time to share them. 🙂
Well this chap was seen arriving today and securing a spot for next year.

So no sign of the ‘tongue in cheek FW190 that isn’t quite certificated yet’ then..!?
Wot this old thing??

😀
Would love to fly in a DC-6, does this aircraft do pleasure flights similar to the rest of the fleet???
In addition I remember sometime last year pleasure flights being advertised in the Vampire T11 and Meteor, I think for £500 and £1,000 respectively. Are these also avialable, just that I haven’t seen them advertised of late?
The DC6 is currently fitted out as a freighter. In the future she maybe fitted out to passenger spec again but it all depends on sponsorship, etc.
The jet flights were to be available as part of the classic flight club membership but the CAA came calling.
The JP belongs to the Newcastle Jet Provost Group and I believe Neil McCarthy posts on here from time to time.
Duxford didnt do to bad either, along with our DC3 several coach parties and quite a few cars diverted to Duxford after the cancellation.
The Pilatus PC12 arrived at Duxford this afternoon around 2ish. 🙂
