She looks fantastic, congratulations to all the people at Sky Harbour for doing such a fantastic job. 😎 😀
Sorry RPSmith that was me not using the quote system. WillJ managed to get his Canberra picture inbetween my post and andrewman’s. I was actually refering to the possible Delta Jets, Air Atlantique combined jet collection at Kemble. I’ve visited the MAM on a couple of occasions and I can only back up what has been said here about it being very friendly and welcoming. A great collection of aircraft has been built up there with the added bonus that it overlooks an airfield and that airfield still flies some classic’s! I believe at least some of the aircraft have been sponsored? Seem’s like a great way of raising some funds. 🙂
Nice picture’s SolentSpotter.
Good to see WS776 has found a good new home.
I’m seriously thinking about moving over that way so I could get involved with them. All those classic jets under one roof – lovely. 🙂
Sounds like it’ll be a great day out! Oppurtunities like that dont come up to often. 🙂
Didn’t all this single engine ban or whatever malarky start after a Spitfire had an engine problem and landed in a park ( Bromley? ) a few years ago?
It’s funny how you’re view of some aircraft changes. When the Tonka’s were replacing the last of the Lightnings I really hated them, then over the years you see them at airshows and you start to warm to them ( probably because there ain’t much else like it left in the RAF ). Now it seems a real shame to see them getting chopped, but we cant save them all.
I’ve heard a rumour that she’s been lurking with intent…
Nice.
Happy Birthday, oh and thanks for all your work keeping the HHA Hunters flying I’m sure everyone here appreciates your efforts.
I’ll second that! 🙂
Have a good one Mike.
2 seat Hunter, probably WV372 – lovely. 🙂
You said it…… 😀
Great, I’m learning here. 😎
Gladf I wasn’t ther only oner then DGH. At the the time one of his staff expressed the same feelings about him. | wonder were there ever real plans for the much talked about museum?
He must haver made a profit from the Spanish Dc3’s and the T28’s? it certianly made the ‘bush a very interersting place!
It certainly did make the place interesting, information wasn’t so freely available back then so it was always a surprise to find what was there as you cycled up through the gorse bushes!
As for the museum, I guess we’ll never know but the Comet that was supposed to become a resturant never seemed to have anything done to it until the day I turned up and they were hacking it to pieces with axe’s 😡
