Great News – Cant wait to see the Sea Hawk again. Probably wont get to see it till next year – that’ll give me something to look forward to. 🙂
As regards your first question Spey111 I think of the top of my head that Hunter is XL578 although I cant say for sure until I get home and check my records. That’s just the main fuselage as the tail and at least one wing are of different aircraft if my memory isn’t playing tricks.
Glen – another good day out at Kemble, G-PSST’s flypasts were awesome – worth the trip on its own. Just one thing though, is it possible to have a few more signs next time I wasn’t the only one who went to the wrong entrance. By the way if your driving to Kemble during the week how do you get to the AV8 resturant?
I don’t think the CAA could stop you but as Mike J says I think the insurance companies would. I don’t think anybody would intentionally take one into the air, I think there would have to be a serious problem first.
By the way John C – it was Wg Cdr ‘Taffy’ Holden. Must be the strangest 12 minutes logged in a Lightning ever!
Thanks HHA Eng, If you could post something the day before it goes or send me a message I would be very grateful. Always a pleasure to see a Hunter in the air. 🙂
Any idea when it’s leaving again then 😀
I would really liked to have gone but I had a prior arrangment at Kemble.
I think the Hunter left about 10 minutes ago while I was on my lunch break ( only jet I’ve heard this morning ). I could’ve gone and seen it after all – doh.
Thanks for that, I’ll be listening and scanning the skies.
Know if he left about 12.15 ish I could get to the airport 😉
You took the words right out of my mouth!
50’s and 60’s for me – no question.
Excellent 😀
Yep, that is the plan. It is just an airfield open day – just wondered what if anything will be going on, air display or no airdisplay. I can’t believe Delta Jets won’t put something up. 🙂
I’ve never really visited North Weald on a non-airshow day. Is there somewere the public can view whats going on without being looked at funny.
Sounds like it was another good event. Unforunatley I didn’t quite get there. My best mate decided he would like to come and offered the services of his company car – this was a good move, unfortunatley just before we got there he got a phone call from his girlfriend saying she’d just been in a head on smash – thankfully she was ok, but it ment a quick U-turn. I’ll be back there next year though.
Um, I thought that  As well as the comment by the ‘expert’ about there being a known problem with the Canberra. That being that when one engine stops it doesn’t fly straight – not his exact words but basically what was said.
