Ammend operating procedures?
Not the first time this has happened.
An Air U.K. FK27 at Aberdeen many years ago had a similar one with a GPU the driver drove the GPU into the prop and lost his life.
A BAE748 of Channel Airways down in Jersey many years ago did the same as the MNG, started to Taxy before the all clear, prop strikes GPU.
Are these happening due commercial pressure?
Not enough ground handlers to do the start up?
From reading into these types of accidents GPU operating procedures should be ammended when aircraft are not on nose in stand parking, before someone gets injured or there is loss of life.
Good luck to all
Always sad to hear of an airline closure so close to one and there work force.
All the best to the ones who have lost there jobs hope someone will pick up the peices quickly.
Ref the aircraft, three companies spring to mind that might be interested.
Scotair
Blueislands might be interested down in the channel islands.
The last one would Mans 2 look at the type as they at the moment have a mix of Lets Metroliners and now D228.
Auster Fan
That picture is not part of the story but is ones signiture
The aircraft from what has been said in the media was a Beech 58 Baron.
From what I have picked up had some engine trouble over the channel and was diverting to Cherbourg but could not make land and had to ditch.
Very sad news.
Is there more to come?
No surprise to some of us , What else do they have up there sleeve down in the West Country?
VLM Short Haul and KLM Long Haul
With this takeover what does it mean, has VLM been succsesful on certain routes which KLM was not?
Is it to do with VLM has had the right aircraft for the routes to be a success and offer a good service where KLM has the wrong aircraft?
What will change will there be any change?
Could it be the VLM will be the domestic side of the operation and KLM would be the longer European flights and long haul side of the company?
Three in a row?
Interesting one.
The Pink Lady has attended our show for a number of years now, although there is talk she might not be around for air Show 2008, she might still make it.
There is also talk that the Sally B would like to attend the same show.
To sum this up it could happen that all three might be able to attend?
What a great line up if this can happen?
The Company is Aviation Jersey and not Jersey Aviation but close enough.
Looks like a great time for all was had?.
Nice shots whish I could have been there.
Nice to see the classic flight is alive and well and good luck for to 2008.
Could some one answer this question please the Dakota parked next to the Hunter looks in one piece will she be going back into the air in 2008?
Which one is it as well as you are unable to see her registration.
Look forward to seeing a number of the Classic Flight around next year a hopefully a trip to see them in 2008.
From the Airport it is about a forty five minute walk that is only when it is a nice day but I think you can get a bus from the airport which passes near by.
All very well the aircraft looks good to some on the out side but I do think they need to get to grips with the flight management system.
The indications it gives is not very helpfull in certain air traffic areas.
747 and 007
It was done for the latest 007 film.
She arrived under a De Havilland callsign (DHC05) which is why it seems a bit odd, if she is for engineering why was she not useing a Tissili Callsign?
