She looks good almost as good as the day she came out of the Douglas Factory?
ref Aurigny and the ATR42
Two of the Air Wales ATR42s are connected with Aurigny ,Flightline and the old Air Wales management.
At the moment one is flying and the other is in Guernsey with Anglo Normandy Engineering.
The aircraft are operated on the Aurigny AOC with there crews flying the aircraft in connection with Flightline and the owner (Ex Air Wales?)
The reason in seeing the aircraft at Gatwick was due to the Aurigny ATR72 fleet being a bit tired and unservicable, today Titan were opperating there BAE146 for Aurigny on one or two sectors.
Hope this helps.
Very sad to read this story, I think some of us were aware this might happen.
The PINK LADY has been an attraction to the Jersey display for a number of years and the crew are always respected and liked very much when they come to the Island.
Words are not enough I do hope this is not the end.
Speaking to the crew last September when down for our air display and finding out they have lost the hangarage she had at Orly, which was to do with a connection with Air France and she would be outside for the forseable future things were not looking to good I do hope we can read some good news not only for the members but the PINK LADY as well.
No news from the Westcountry on this yet
There seems to be a lack of any comment comming from Flybe as they have a large number of the Q400s.
If the media has not caught up with this story yet it must be just a matter of time and we know what the media can do to these types of reports.
As they say some interesting times ahead for the Classic flight.
Good to see a Dakota will still be earning her keep all be it on a contract basis.
Keep up the good work.
Another One
Not a problem here comes my support.
This date is special down in the Islands as it is so close to our Air Display day
AIRBOURNE
The only real person who knows is the one that will be in that left hand seat when it happens.
If it is tomorrow well done to all but if it is not it will be shortly.
Good Luck.
Grass parking
PEN PUSHER
Yes both Daks went onto the grass, the ATR is not an aircraft for parking on the grass it is at least 10 ton heaver than a Dak?
The centre of the display was half way along the runway near the tower the ATR was parked just north of the threshold out of they way of most of the crowd, where else whould one have parked this aircraft?
I understand at an earlier event this year at Duxford five VLM Fokker 50s came in, did they all park on the grass if at all?
ATR72 blocking the crowd line
Well it had to park some where so where else would it go, in front of the VIP tent?
It brought up 64 passengers and 4 crew up from the Channel Islands so should it been parked south of the runway with the other vistors?
Night stopping Gnats
The two aircraft came in last week from North Wealde? for a tech stop on the way to Marrakech for a birthday bash.
Now they are on there way back useing Jersey as a tech stop again but this time takeing in the delights of a night stop.
This week ahead
All one can say is GOOD LUCK and best wishes from all of us and hope it all goes to plan.
If it is a Cigar it will be a big one from HAVANHA.
the main thing she will fly when every thing is done and now before.
We all understand the barriers that have cropt up and the time delays so we all await for the big day to come.
All the best to the team.
Still there 22 years later
Good to see the DC7 still in one piece.
My Wife and I were in Grand Canaria on honeymoon nearly 22 years ago and she was there at the time painted in Rothmans Cigarettes colours.
Shame she is decaying.
I only met Mark once when he came to the air show in Jersey, such a nice lad, following in his Fathers flying carreer. Mark and his Dad Ray will be remembered for a long time .
With the person in the rear seat wearing blue it suggests that this was a transit flight with the engineer for that aircraft in the rear seats.
