Nice pictures, to see these close up is great, when we were at the Air show they were on the other side which we could not get to so well done nice pictures.
Less than a week to go
Some changes
The Tunnan might not make the show as she has been on major overhaul and might not be ready.
The Tunnan might be replaced by a Hawker Hunter or the Hunter might come any way:(
The Blades are now commeing.:)
With problems with parking this year due to work takeing place they might run out of room to park every thing.
We will have to wait and see and just pitch up for a good look around on the day.
There might be more changes before wednesday we have heard the web site for the display will be up dated this weekend so keep checking
http://www.jerseyairdisplay.org.uk/
Hope we can have this weather going through till next saturday as the weather will make a good show and a good turn out.
We must not forget this show is a free one, donations are asked for the R.A.F.A as well as being able to look at the aircraft in the static display before and after the flying.:)
Today or not Today?
Well if it is today good luck and well done.
The weather around the country looks good for any type of flying now the early mist is burning off.
Could the whole world vibrate at some time today if today is the day?:)
Another fine looking company run around.
Have you tryied to contact the owners of the ones that are still flying in the U.K.? they might have contacts to help track the aircraft down?
There is the Bournemouth based one G-BNPH and the Covernty one G-BXES.
Well good hunting ,it is nice to read that there is still hope to see some more British aircraft trying to be saved as the Government does not have the same thoughts on trying to help keep these aircraft in the U.K.
A Fine Young Lady.
Mondariz
I am glad you have replyied to Cloudmaster, when I first read your comment it seemed you did not know any thing about aircraft engineering, with your follow up you do seem to know a little.
I have been in aviation over thirty years and seen how aircraft are stripped down on major checks and put back together.
A British registered aircraft will come under the CAA and the CAA inspector will not sign off the aircraft if things are not 100 per cent, where as third world aicraft get away with things and this is why you see that aircraft are banded from flying in Europe, as there standards of Airwothness are not up to par with European and even the FAA standards.
One must not forget this aircraft has been looked after by the same engineers as the BBMF Lancarster which had its major check earlier in the year and that looks in very good shaped, all being well for a number of decades to come.
So we could see this DC 6 go on for a number of years to come provideing the funding is there. She is relying on sponsers in anumber of ways like the coulurs she is in know to do with makeing a film and to have the aircraft appear at air shows like next weekend she is back in Leylastad and then on to Hamburg so the funding is out there to try and keep her where you belongs to be able to do this.
When an aircraft is displayed in the U.K. the crew need to hold a display licence and that is added cost so there are many a hidden cost to keep her in the air even on a permit to fly which a number of these aircraft that appear at air shows are on.
Health of a Lady
Well the big question for this fine young Lady is she back in the peakest of Health? If so what are her next missions she is due down in the Channel Islands next wednesday and then on to Germany I am lead to believe.
Does any know when she will be departing to the Channel Islands and then on to Germany? There are a number of places around the Airport down in Jersey where she will be on display to take arriving pictures and departures a Although Jersey did not get the Vulcan this must come close as she is sporting a rare colour scheme plus not many of these Ladies can be seen flying around not just in Europe but in the world.
G-APSA in KLM Markings
She looks great she is as good as PH-DDS was if not looking better. with the scheme on the DC6 and the other was on the C54.
Look forward to seeing her shortly.
Nice Colours on G-APSA
I think a number of people have worked this one out. We should know by late tomorrow as a number of pictures would have been posted on her activity this weekend at Lelystad let her home comming at Coventry tomorrow.
Does any one know where else she might be performing? she is down to go to Jersey for there Air Display the week after next the 13th Sept, She will be doing film work that is why the paint job, has any one else been interested in her to be showen off? will she be at Duxford on the 14th October for the close of the 2007 Display season?
Updates
The Dove is out of the programme now but in its place is the Junkers JU52 from France.
Not a bad replacement I would think?
Before the show starts there will be some more changes.
From what I understand some of the commercial aircraft will be open for viewing on the static line like the BMI Airbus and the Flybe EMB195 so things are looking good also the DC6 is going to be something to see from what I can make out.
Air Atlantiques DC6 G-APSA
With this aircraft just out of the paint shop what colour is she sporting? is it just a revised Air Atlantique/Classic Flight scheme?
Transit Flight
It would be good for Greece does take up the offer as this was an arson started fire I understand and the greek Governmont have not got what is available to stop the fires.
A number of people will be able to have alook at the aircraft on route I would have at a guess?.
We will have to try and see what her route would be< she would have to tech stop on route?
If she does get airbourne what routeing whould she be takeing? I would have a guess few people might be able to see her transit U.K. airspace?
Could this be the weekend for 558?
Well Said Peter
With the Bank Holiday weather looking good and 558 doing high powered runs yesterday could this be the week end for the big event.
Will ther be people camping out around Brunty this weekend hopeing this will be it.
Good luck to the team for the programme for today some of us are to far away to hear her engine runs but like a lot of us we are finding out via the syber phone.
County alive with noise
From the comments one is picking up the whole of the county can hear the Vulcan with the feed back on some of the forums.
When the aircraft gets into the air shortly the whole of the county will be having one hell of a party and then they can all turn round the the U.K Government and say look what we have done for British Aviation.
Give us some dosh to keep her there where she belongs.
A Stroll down the RWY?
Good luck and all the best to the team with todays programme. Be it only a stroll down the runway or even a quick jogg.
We all await the news that you have achieved what the whole country is waiting to see and hear.
On out local news yesterday the Air Display committee chairman for a display happening in the middle of next month put his neck on the line and said the Vulcan will be going to the Ball.
Well that is one hell of a statement lets hope he does not have to eat a bit of humble pie.
The ATP into Jersey is small parcells operates Jersey-Guernsey-Luton-Brussels-Luton-Guernsey-Jersey I think it is for TNT or atl east one of those an into Guernsey this ATP carries there Newspapers before comming on to Jersey.
The second ATP into Guernsey is the Mail contract aircraft.
There is also four time a week a Coventry-Jersey-Guernsey-Coverntry Atlantic Airlines flight for small parcels as well this operates four days a week with an MNG Fokker F27 but will be an ATP sometime in the future.
Flowers from the Island go out on a Freighter Ferry in a cold storage Container, this ferry is a slow one and takes something like 13 hours but it operates every day and in all weathers gone are the days of flying the flowers out.
