So it can be done im sure if the bbmf tried it now it “may” be easier due to less weight no bombs guns armour plating etc.

But as said not recommended i doubt they would try it anyway!

    Certainly an interesting story.

He came home on leave one week and told us he had one ambition,” MacDougall said. “He told his sister and me that he’d like to try to ‘loop’ a Lancaster.
“But I don’t think it could be done”

Can it be done was it ever tried?

Interesting story & very sad for his sister never to know his last resting place.

There is bodies trapped in the Arizona we all know there still in there can’t see the yanks getting them out they call it a war grave.

The only difference i can see here is they want the plane out of the sea and the crew is still there, not sure whats best to leave the bodies on the sea bed which of course is now a skeleton or to bring up for a burial.

Interesting point above with the RN if you died at see you were buried at sea no difference here really.

Finding the remains is one thing but who pays the bill for recovery?

Everything comes down to money can’t see this goverment forking out they won’t give current servicemen equipment, so they won’t pay to collect the remains.

All it needs is an hour with the pressure washer and a little tinkering………

Saw this on facebook………. Asking if she will fly……….

Andrew Panton Its always a possibility. There are 3 factors- the will, the finances and the feasability. It would be nice to see her fly but then there is always the risk that she would crash. Parts are continuously being sourced in case we make the descision to fly her and so cost are always being incurred. We know that it is feasable as the aircraft has been inspected.

Thanks again great info will look those sets up on the net.

5000 litres hope that jet fuel is less than a £1.00 per litre.!

Do you do live runs with passengers to claw some cash to pay for this fuel?

You could do tours too for a charge or you may already. nice work on that it looks superb it’s been a while since i last had a look in here, keep up the great work….

& in the air what is the range?
