They would sell bits off to make up the funds yes id still go for a look but then it’s no different to most days when there not practicing it’s just a museum but a expensive one i prefer to only go when it’s a airshow.

There is plenty of museums up and down the country with no airstrip that pull in custom.

Blimey.. that reminds me of the Mini Coopers going into the back of the coach in the original Italian Job movie. That salt water can’t be much good for the airframe though i would’nt of thought.

If designed for the job im sure the metal airframe is up to scratch with a “little” salt water, was more like a tidal wave.!

Your photo also shows some damage to the tail as mentioned over the tannoy. Wonder if they found it.

Hi. Yes I saw what was on before hand & I saw it lacked the above. Still paid and went had a good time but would have liked to have seen more.

Had more in past years. But I guess as other shows were on the same day the RAF were busy flying over a park or something. :eagerness:

Legends. It lacked variety plenty of British and a few American poor show on German aircraft would liked to have seen far more not even the Lancaster showed up or a B25.

Still the sun came out and we had a good time.

For those of us under the age of 45ish it would be far better if these events were advertised on the likes of Facebook and not just in magazines or forums like these, Facebook is used more often and to see it pop up it can be shared by those interested parties and more people can attend.

For me it would have to be local and thats within 30 miles one way as there isn’t much i want but it would make a day out.

It was stated they hoped to find the engine, since they have found the prop I would imagine they would have found the engine before they found the prop since the engine would be behind the prop when digging down. What am I missing here?

If this bog was rather wet the engine may have sunk throwing off parts on its arrival with the bog. keep digging chaps.

I tried volunteering at Elvington, but they demand a minimum of 4 days per month. That’s a pretty big ask for most people.

Looking after these is ideal if your single or no kids! Married & having kids you have no spare time to do anything else..:love-struck:

That is why you tend to find it’s the older end who are looking after them cos there bored of the wife & need to escape for a few hours.:love-struck::D
