Pardon my cynicism. I am not being specifically anti-Muslim here (in fact, I abhor all ‘organised religion’) but I think the Muslim Council of Britain needs to take highly visible actions to their words and be seen to ex-communicate extremists, to put a lid on the spread of Sharia law, put a stop to the Muslim enclaves that are ‘no go’ areas to us Infidels and ensure any ‘clerics of hate’ are removed from mosques forthwith. Anything less is way beyond the extreme end of unacceptable.
I’ll join the cynics club with you Andy.
Personally, I wouldn’t trust any of them any further than I could spit.
You’ve only got to go shopping in Luton on a Saturday (something I’d actually drink bleach to avoid doing–but had to for a particular item recently) to see what’s really going on.
If they’re making any attempt to integrate with British society in any meaningful way, then I’m missing it.
My guess is that many of them look down their noses at ‘us’–us being the white, long standing, long suffering, residents of this miserable little pellet of land.

It can’t be you Jim, it’s hasn’t got a fag burning.
When are you next coming down to see us..??

We did not despise the Irish just because a minority of evil murderers destroyed the lives of civilians and soldiers over more than 30 years.
I did.
Like the Muslims, the Roman Catholic Irish were always slow to turn in one of their own–even murderers.
There was plenty of ‘hat passing’ in places like Luton too.
Perhaps we should get the kid gloves off a bit more. After all, many of you here were only eulogising Queen Margaret the other week. She didn’t take a lot of truck from those nice Irish buckoes did she..?

My condolences to the family of the man killed.
I was only thinking the other day as I queued up in my local Tesco Metro in a line of service folk (mainly getting their lunches) from nearby RAF Chicksands,
that how nice it was to see them out in uniform after all those years of them being dressed in civvies because of the IRA.
If we’re going to get a loadf of this sort of sh*t I expect that’ll all stop.
Personally I’m sorry that the Police only wounded the f*cking b*stards.
The Muslim community should thank their god tonight that I don’t run the country.

Funnily enough I watched Eurovision.
However, that was the first thing I’d watched complete for three weeks, and for certain reasons of my own, I quite enjoyed it. I reckon my average TV watching is about 30 minutes per week.
I read a lot and use the internet, and I listen to the radio a lot (often Radio 4).
I find 95% of modern television completely puerile to be honest.
Pap for the masses mostly, and we run ‘a wish we could harm list’ for certain so called personalities.
To put someone on the list not only do you have to hate them but devise a nasty way of harming them.
Ant and Dec are top of my list, which is slightly strange because I doubt I’ve watched more than five minutes television with them actually on screen in my life. I just don’t like the look of them.
I could easily live without a set completely and probably will when the present set dies.

What dog ??
Quite.
The BBC last week managed to do about three days worth of commemorations without ever mentioning the blessed hound.
Even to the extent that as ‘Young Snow’ was doing a piece to camera in GP Gibson’s old office, the viewer could see the grave on the grass outside the window at one point.
As to a remake, I just can’t see the need.
The old film may be innacurate, with rubbish effects but I doubt any new film will be better.
There is after all more to a film than special effect (heavens, we’ve seen enough cr*p to prove that) or even technical accuracy–although a good stab at the last bit helps.
Andy,
My policy? Well, I think that you could guess at that!
Like me, I imagine it’s one of forgiveness and all having a big hug afterwards–I think not..!!

Actually John, last night on the BBC (Radio 4) there was a piece about how many Germans and French would vote to be out of the EU–if given the chance. Quite a lot is the answer.
Many of my French friends rather envy Britain and it’s EU stance. They don’t like the concept of the EU any more than I do–or the Euro.
They’d have the Franc back tomorrow. I know Germans and Greeks who’d like their old currencies back too.
What annoys me about some of the comments above is the way all the French are slung in the same basket. Let’s face it, there’s little agreement on anything discussed here, so why do the media, and by definition the readers of the Daily mail assume the French are one big united group..?
