Are you one of the volunteers as well then?
How cruel life can be. Condolences to his family, i hope the memories and messages of sympathy on these pages can help to ease the pain.
I was lucky enough to clock up quite a few hours in my ‘BA Junior Jet Club’ log book flying on Viscounts throughout the 70’s, usually G-AOYG for some reason or another.
It just demonstrates a total lack of compassion, and a whole lot of greed.
OK, hands up, maybe not greed, bad choice of words there, but there was not a whole lot of thought going on there!
I agree with your comments regarding the 748, but at least the ATP is getting consideration already. Too many of these types are not considered till it’s too late.

Good Stuff Steve, nice to see.
I have to say that I agree with most of the comments regarding the design of this hanger, but looking at the plan, they seem to have made pretty good use of the floor space, 6 very large airframes will be under cover.
Given the progress made by museums in the last 20 years, who knows, maybe we will be able to get decent uncluttered pictures in another 20 years!!
Hopefully you are right, I just meant that the main focus will be on RAF types.
Although I am happy more aeroplanes are going under cover I find it sad, as a “Cold War Exhibition”, there is no attempt to display any Soviet aircraft (or American for that matter). Would be nice to compare a Tu.104 with a Valiant, a Mig or Su with a Javelin, etc.
Roger Smith.
Indeed it would, however, it is the RAF Museum Cosford
the collection of experimentals is superb, a national treasure.
I totally agree with you on that one, it is one heck of a collection.
Also I really hope the Belfast and Argosy make it indoors, 2 often forgotten types.
On the local news tonight, basically they have finished rebuilding/restoring the interior, and she is now reopening for public tours.
Lets hope she has a long life at Fort Paull.
Good stuff, shame she’s bolted to the ground now, but at least she’s being looked after.
Anyone been to Bardney ? is there anything left there?
Neil.
Lots!, both from WWII and the Thor Era, have a look at these:
Were you at the talk the other night ref the Blenheim..??
Neil
No, I totally forgot about it, very busy at work etc, not very good of me really as I had mentioned it a few times on various forums. No doubt I will get a grilling from the other FOMA/MAVC members this weekend! At least my membership is up to date.
Did you go?
