R I P Brave men and a thank you to those who did all the work finding them. 🙁 shame about this though http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3274283/Historians-lost-remains-five-British-airmen-say-SNUBBED-MoD-not-invited-military-funeral.html
Having seen this discussed on TV, I think too much has been made of this particular aspect of the story.
The most important thing is that the crew are now together again.
Those who made it possible can be proud of their achievements.
Thanks for the picture updates of the AAM.
Any word as to why the F-100 has it’s wing(s) off, do they have a new custodian ?
I thought it had finished ! 🙂
I thought it had finished ! 🙂
Some coverage on Forces TV news.
Any updates on the AAM building ?
I assume all of the glass is back in, and the building is again weather proof ?
It will be interesting to see what (if anything) is different inside. Aircraft aside.
Very sad.
Condolences to the family of the pilot.
I hope we get a bit of notice.
fascinating and wryly amusing…what was the film?
“Fortress”. I didn’t watch it, just looked at the credits to see who was in it.
Not just the younger generation by any stretch of the imagination, Alan.
When will you know if you have achieved your few minutes of fame?;)
Well I made the final cut Charlie. Even though they edited me.

At 7.30mins
Well, y’know, I have to get my own continuity error in to keep the theme going… Mind you, IMDB suggests it was filmed at Universal Studios.

Where most, if not all of the Sherlock Holmes films were produced in the 40’s I believe ?
Havent heard any more Charlie. If I am on, you’ll see me sitting down
wearing a black T-shirt. I expect they had lots of videos sent in.
I don’t think anyone was suggesting there was a problem with the subject matter of the programme, it
was the voice over people found annoying.
Perhaps it was pitched at the level of the younger generation who think the X Factor, Eastenders
or Come Dancing are at the cutting edge of entertainment.
Clever stuff !
I take it that not much has changed ?
I only as as my wife’s cousin moved from Catterick to Binbrook earlier this year, and drove to the airfield the other day.
He was asking me about the lightning there, which was still covered up.
I’ve read the story about it, and it seems to have had a series of problems over the years, merely trying to exist
at the airfield. After all of the effort in getting it there, I hope it has a good future.
