Nobody has the appetite for war, not against a country with any military might anyway.

Regarding the Russians. Is your enemy’s enemy your friend ?

I’m going for the first time. I was going to attend regardless, but when they added the Vulcan that was extra incentive.

I’ve heard wonderful things about OW, so if anyone has any tips to help me and the wife enjoy it even more please share.

Apart from getting there early for a good look around before the flying starts, and have a walk around the gardens,
A couple of fold up chairs and a picnic maybe. Parking is close to flighline so not much walking, and no need to carry
lots around with you all day.

That P40 display in the video,so much accuracy, precision, high energy safe aerobatics, smooth and controlled low flying and that landing-just superb.

My earliest recollection of seeing Mark fly, was when he flew the P-40 at Henlow.

:applause: What a line up at the display ,and not even a Spitfire

Yes there was, at 15:15, and a Hurricane at 15:40 🙂

What we wouldn’t give for a line up like that today !! I still have one or two similar programmes.
Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be 🙁

I hope you all have a great day. Not going this year, but if it’s half as good as it was last year,
    you wont be disappointed.

The Airfield Research Group is also good for information on airfields.
Have you tried them ? They do have some info on Metheringham

£980,000 from the HLF, plus an extra £160,000 from the Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund…

Doesn’t sound much if you say it quickly. 🙂

Watched the latest Mission Impossible. The first one I’ve seen.

    Ok, but nothing special.

I’ve yet to watch a Star Wars Film all the way through.

The cost of this revamp must be eye watering!

Indeed, I wonder when we will be told exactly how much ? I also wonder if the trustees (or whoever) still think it was
    £13.5 million well spent ?

Great pictures, and a nice mix of aircraft.
Always necessary to make a really early start if driving to an airshow.
Something we learnt after many years of attending Mildenhall Air Fetes.

Bit of a thread drift, but still on the same subject, one of the best films I have ever seen, re land speed records, is Sir. A. Hopkins, in the “Fastest Indian”. If you get the chance to watch it, you won’t be disappointed.

Yes a very good film, seen it a couple of times. Could it happen again ? It would be nice to think so,
but I doubt it would be allowed.

Good luck to them at this latest attempt . Although I doubt luck comes into it.

From watching one of the “Air Accident” programmes, where an imbalance of weight was one of the causes of an accident.
It was said that airlines take an average weight per passenger. Stating that the average has now been increased.

Probably more important on smaller aircraft, and/or when runway length is a major factor.
