I’m reckoning if nothing untoward is widely circulated I’ll upgrade from my current W7 to W10 in September or October.
That should be enough time for any horrendous flaws to have been discovered.
Moggy
I’m thinking along the same lines myself, when I shall also upgrade my computer.
……… Japan was already on its knees and would have surrendered without an invasion.
I’m not so sure about that. The Emperor may have wanted to, but the army would in all likelihood, have fought on.
With more Japanese civilians losing their lives in air raids.
We’ll never know what the outcome might have been if the bombs hadn’t been dropped, apart from a continuing
huge loss of life. Both Japanese and allied.
I think it is actually tomorrow.
Yes indeed. Sorry about that, getting mixed up with dates on the calendar.
It happens when you retire 🙁

Didn’t see them myself, but apparently a pair of Tornados flew low over Southend yesterday.
Someone must have seen them ? I don’t have any other details.
Only this
“….Dear fellow archaeologists,
I work with Heritage authorities in Germany (hessenArchäologie) to offer field-schools for students across Europe.
This year we are digging in Hungen, near Giessen, in Germany, and excavating the remains of a MKIII Halifax bomber, shot down in 1944.
This is usually only offered to students of the University of Winchester, however, due to the unfortunate placement of their training excavation this yea, I have several spaces open for any archaeological student or professional to join us for 2 weeks in September.
Costs are €100 for FULL bed and board for 2 weeks plus travel costs to and from Germany (usually under 150 pounds).
All the best,
Steven Hubbard…”
Thanks again John.
Could well be very busy Saturday. With it being the only day the Vulcan is flying.

Thanks for that John.
Probably worth getting there fairly early, and having an early lunch somewhere.
As you say, Beachy Head is some distance from the action. Although ok for looking down on aircraft approaching
from the west, and the odd Red Arrow.
Not being familiar with Eastbourne, whereabouts on the map do you mean ?

Thanks Charlie. :
I was thinking that an early start at Beachy Head was doable.
Then there was a lot of time to kill with not much else to look at.
Decisions, decisions …..

That must be a fascinating job, if at times rather gruesome.
It could be the only chance a lot of people will get to sit in a Spitfire.
I bet there will be a long queue.
Don’t want to turn this into a “Cilla Bashing” thread, but I did work with an electrician several years ago,
who had been on Blind Date.
He was less than complimentary towards her. Back stage she wasn’t nice at all.
Then I suppose you could say that about many celebs. I also knew a chap who had worked at Bruce Forsyth’s house.
He found him particularly nasty. They must have to put up with a lot of media intrusion though.
Like Moggy said, her singing wasn’t bad. Even when she was covering Dionne Warwick songs.
