Were there many (or any) photographers wandering about airside over the weekend ?
I’m sure they get some great pictures. While everyone else gets a shot of the back of their heads,
trying to photograph aircraft taking off and landing.

How many times have you been at an airshow, when as you are about to take that “perfect” picture, a fuel bowser
goes past, or an ATC cadet walks in front of you ?

When I was at RAF Bruggen as an ATC cadet in the early 70s, we were addressed by the CO
(or maybe other senior officer). Who was telling us of someone who landed and brought one of his
fellow pilots back. Unfortunately I don’t remember the details.

It may have been the officer who was CO at the time ?

Ah well, they’ve dropped the idea now, Cameron knew he was onto a looser.

A lot of events do this. As said, its a means of controlling numbers attending.
Maybe they were under pressure from the police and local authority ?

Commentating is not easy. I did a couple of car race meetings some years ago and I found it very difficult to judge what the crowd is interested in as you are naturally facing the action and not the punters. As a test, try locking yourself in the bathroom and talking to yourself for 3 hours and see how interesting you are at the end of it!

Sean Maffet. always seemed to get it about right. I don’t think he does warbird displays does he ?
