It makes you wonder what next year’s major airshow attraction is going to be.
2014 ………The two Lancasters
2015 ………Last flights of XH558 :apologetic:
2016 ………. ??
Is it one of those featured on Ice Pilots ?
Not in my lifetime can I remember a free airshow? Where were these? I clearly missed them.
Not free, but I seem to remember paying 2/- (shillings) to get into Bentwaters, which including a flying programme.
It was a long time ago 🙂
Lovely picture. I wonder if they’ll manage that at any other airshows this year ?
I recall a colleague who used to work on Vulcans at Avro and he often told me that on many test flights the sandwich break would often involve some barrel rolls for no reason other than amusement, and he usually carried-on eating his sandwiches whilst sat on the step below the pilots. With positive-g applied he didn’t even know he was upside-down 🙂
In much the same way that Bob Hoover would roll his aircraft while pouring a cup of coffee.
I should imagine that back in WWII, it was more a case of: As long as they fly, they are fit for purpose.
Ah well, that’s a few years of research and writing wasted then.
Nice one 🙂
Pair of biplanes (Pitts ?) flying south over Rayleigh early afternoon.
I doubt there is much which hasn’t been covered.
Nice pictures Brian :applause:
I was wondering about that myself ?
I wonder who will be the first to call you a naughty boy ? 🙂
Rapide over Tower Bridge on Wednesday.
Nice to see some pictures from a different pov.
Even if they were from the nà ughty field 🙂
I suppose the corporate hospitality brings in money, and is sometimes a way of saying thank you to investors.
It is annoying when (as someone mentioned), a hospitality marquee is taking up a lot of viewing space,
and there are very few people using it.
It used to (maybe still does) happen at test matches. Where half of the seats were empty in the afternoon, as
visitors were having a late lunch, and had no interest in the cricket.
I would have thought those who pay a lot of money to go into an airshow, have more than a passing interest in
aircraft. It did get into Coventry some years ago for nothing, only because my B-I-L got some free passes from
the chap he knew at Air Atlantique.
