    Charlie,

in German Football we have the “Ausländerregelung” or the Foreigners Law which demands that every professional German Team must have at least eight Players that were either born in Germany or trained in a German team between the age of 15 and 21 without interruption. The Bundesliga has 61 percent German Players.
    .

Sounds like what we should have here Peter. Although I don’t see it happening.

I remember a game being played between Arsenal and Chelsea (I seem to remember). Where only one
of the players on the pitch was eligible to play for England.

Hopefully in time we will be told the reason behind this decision.

I would guess that eventually it will come down to money ?

At least the aircraft will be staying  at Duxford  (for now anyway)

Regarding the plans for RAF Lancasters to drop the A bombs on Japan, I recently came across this video.

It’s something I wasn’t aware of,  and I expect some will be quick to point out inaccuracies in the story

It’s some time since I posted here, and this may have been mentioned before ?

I have just booked to go to Duxford on the 17th September, just before the airshow.

Our membership expires at the end of July, but membership has been extended for

the period of  time IWM sites have been closed.  Apparently this is not automatic, and

you need to contact IWM  membership, who will send you a covering letter which you

will need to present on entry.

I haven’t posted very much on here for a while , especially after the last incarnation of the forum. I like this one even less.

So goodbye forum, it was nice while it lasted.

You were of course correct about having dust on the sensor. The reason it wasn’t showing on the lens I use for shooting wildlife
is because that is a fixed f5 aperture and I use manual mode.
When photographing prop aircraft, as I was yesterday at Duxford, I tend to use shutter priority at a slow speed, which on a bright
sky can close the aperture right down, hence showing up the dust spots. Some from yesterday looked as if they’d had a severe
    case of measles.
I have ordered a sensor cleaning kit.

Edit: Sensor cleaning kit duly arrived. Sensor is now clean 🙂

Even though you say there was nothing on the sensor, it looks like a dust spot to me. There’s any number of helpful web pages out there telling you exactly what to look for, and decent camera dealers will often have a while-you-wait sensor cleaning service.

Thanks for the advice, but if it were dust on the sensor it would still be there, as I haven’t done anything with it. While I was going around
Rainham Marshes nature reserve yesterday, I took some photos of aircraft going into City Airport. They were perfectly clean.

Further investigation is needed methinks….. Thanks anyway

Have you got an example you could post? Also what camera were you using?

This is a cropped image showing what looks like a dust spot. I use a D500
Each photo I took had about a dozen such spots on them. Unfortunately I don’t keep my RAW images,
and the photos I keep have been cleaned up. It’s not something I have previously had a problem with.

We left Duxford today at about 4:45pm and there were 21 DC-3s parked. A fairly quiet day until eight arrived together at 3:45pm.

I hope to see the formation flying over Southend on Wednesday, although the weather forecast is iffy.

I wonder why they made Sunday prior booking only, unless it was just for car parking. It didn’t seem that much busier than a Friday
    prior to an airshow.

Horses for courses I know, but I shoot everything in manual….I find it works the best for me, with aircraft and wildlife

I am hoping to get to Duxford on Sunday 2nd June to see some arrivals. I had an email from the IWM saying that although being members we get in for no extra charge,
we still have to book. They only give a link to their main website. Can anyone tell me where I need to go to book please.?

I know these things can change, but apparently the formation heading out to Normandy, have requested to fly overhead Southend Airport at 1,000ft.
On the 5th June about 14:29….. Duxford .> Colchester > Southend > Maidstone > Eastbourne.
