Tornados have visited Southend a couple of times recently. It goes without saying that both times I’ve missed them 🙁
No prizes for guessing one of the reasons cited as being the cause of their demise !
Especially in Sky and the BBC news headlines.
I believe OVT was sold for the sum of £1
Such a shame that Monarch Engineering has now ceased operating too.
I wonder if “Just Jane” will be configured to carry passengers ?. It seems to work with the Canadian Lancaster.
We’ve only been the once, and it was quite busy. Car park fills up very quickly. We attended the service in Air Space, which was very nice.
Food and drink outlets will no doubt have long queues.
More than likely Hawking, as he doesn’t (or didn’t) carry any political baggage.
Unlikely to be anyone with connections to WWII, as the loony left would start going on about celebrating the lives of warmongers.
I expect it’s already been decide anyway.
I was banned from our local newspaper forum a few years ago. They were very “Traveller” friendly, and you weren’t allowed to criticize them, or refer to them as “Pikeys”
It has got to a ridiculous level nowadays. You only have to say boo to someone now, and they will claim you abused them.
There’s a very good YouTube video entitled, “The age of emotional Incontinence”, which is well worth a watch. Everything nowadays has to pitched at the level of a 5 yr old..
Good speech !
Nice pictures Simon. They were indeed very lucky with the weather.
The met office seem to have got the weather totally wrong again. Proving once again that you can’t accurately predict the
weather more than 24 hrs in advance.
My mistake as regards which Airforce the T55 Vampire pilot flies for…It is Finland as suggested. It was quite noisy, and my hearing isn’t good.
Quote ……
.”Pilot Jyri Mattila

Jyri has also huge experience in organizing air displays at airshows as Display Director and deputy at the main annual Finnish air show event. From his test pilot duties he has flown a number of fighter aircraft besides
the Fi AF inventory aircraft like JAS 39 Gripen, Eurofighter Typhoon, Rafale among others….. “
Interesting to note that the chap who was flying the T55 Vampire, flies F-18s for the Finnish Air force. (corrected)
That Mk VIII Spitfire looks really nice.
Quote: “£2 billion (approximately $2.66 billion) will be spent by the British government on the project by 2025″ Will that be x 2 or x 3 ?
Anyway, I hope this wind dies down a bit, otherwise it could seriously curtail flying this weekend.
I think we should give them a chance to get it sorted, rather than complaining. After all visiting this forum is not compulsory.
A photographic website I help to moderate, and a couple of wildlife photography groups.
