I made my one and only visit just over 5 years ago. On what turned out to be one of the
    hottest days of the year.
I spent three hours there with my wife, and due to the lack of ventilation, we were both
starting to wilt and she was getting bored. So we walked back into London. It was our
    Silver Wedding after all 🙂

I must get back there and see what they’ve done with it. There’s just so much to see.

It would be interesting to know how much it costs to maintain.
Probably a fraction of what it costs to keep just one of the superannuated brass hats in gin.

I wonder, are we suffering from “Anniversary Overload” ?

The first (new) series of Doctor Who on DVD.

Watching that shows just how awful it has become since Eccleston’s departure.

I thought the Christmas edition was quite good.
I do so like Clara :eagerness:

There being so many versions of the Merlin, would be a good reason for museums gathering all their examples together in one place.
So you could see the visible differences at a glance. Rather than having dotted around in different buildings.

    Great pictures.
Considering the amount of rain we’ve had recently, I’m surprised so many aircraft could fly from a grass surface.
    It must drain very well.

I’d like to echo the thought’s of those thanking the contributors to the thread.
It’s got me making three trips to Duxford this year. Hopefully a few more in 2015.

No worse than any of the TV news bulletins. They are just putting the weather forward as a possible cause.
Until the cause is found, people can only speculate. Whether it be in public or in private.

AFAIK, the RAF aircraft were originally leased with strict hand back conditions but an option to purchase was taken up and the aircraft have been owned for sometime now.

    Ah right, thanks

I was under the impression that the RAF C-17s were leased.
Or has that situation changed ?
