Scanner stopped on the Red Arrows frequency this morning, they were in transit to somewhere.
Anyone know where they were off to ? Couldn’t have been too far away as only using small indoor antenna.

What I am finding confusing is, so many sighting of objects by satellites and aircraft, and I haven’t heard of anything
being picked up. I know we are talking about vast distances, but I would have expected to have heard about the
identity of some of the debris seen by now. There are a lot of ships in the area.

Has there been a noticeable difference between what your original investment forecasts were and what you’ve actually got?

To be honest I don’t remember what the original forecasts were. Although I have received annual updates which don’t
seem to have changed much over the last few years.
I never invested huge amounts, but I did start when I was relatively young. Obviously taking the money now, meant a
considerably smaller sum, than if I had waited another 10years.

I’ve just missed out on this legislation.
I took my 25% lump sum from my private pension back in November, and now have a small annuity.

I’m not sure though, what I would have done differently if I’d had the chance.
Maybe a smaller lump sum and a bigger annuity ? Which may have meant losing some in Tax, when my state pension starts.

That looks a pretty user friendly display, and I assume you can swap the displays , depending who is flying the aircraft ?

It gets my buttocks clenched, when eating out in a restaurant, and have the misfortune to be sitting near anyone who is eating their food with their mouth open.

More so with people who try to carry on talking when they have a mouth full of food. Everybody gets a bit 🙁

The ergonomics of the switch positions is not exactly what you would call user friendly. Especially as you need to look down to operate them.
I suppose that if you are familiar with the aircraft you soon get to learn which are the important ones, but having switches close to each other, where pushing the wrong one could cause a heart stopping moment, surely can’t be a good idea.

Then again the designers of the panels must know what they are doing, you’d hope so anyway.

The panel shown above wouldn’t make it very easy to fly from the right hand seat either ? (speaking as a non-pilot)

On smaller Cessna’s some of the instrument s are illuminated, mainly to do with radio, compass etc, the rest are illuminated by a red light in the ceiling between the pilots, this casts a glow over the panel, there is also a white roof light too, later C172R etc have cockpit lighting. Pipers tend to have an Individual light per instrument.

I assume that these lights, apart from the radio and transponders which are illuminated anyway, need to be physically switched on ?

There seem to be a few contenders for the title of second fastest. I know that when by Brother in Law was at Monarch,
he reckoned their 707-720 took the Silver medal.
