Certainly some skilful flying. I remember seeing crop spraying aircraft doing this on TV. I think it was when the spraying season had finished (in Africa ?) and the pilots blew off a bit of steam, by ski-ing along the local irrigation canals.

I was at a series of astronomy talks last weekend. The final presentation was given by someone involved with this project.
Now, I am not a technical person, but a friend who was with us is an engineer. His comment at the end was something like
“No b****y chance” The technical details had more holes than a Swiss Cheese.

It’ll only work if they can get a major airline involved. Like EazyJet have with Southend.

As said, they will need the rail links in first.

The attitude here is, we know where “most” of them are but leave them alone until there is a need for them to be disposed of.
If there is construction work to be undertaken etc.

In Germany, (I believe) they have to dispose of any “known” bombs straight away. Although there must be a lot they don’t
know about.

Ont Telly tonight, it seems that IF they build the new Rail Link, it will “Only” cost 40.2 Billion Pounds. That’s at todays prices. Probably be finished in 2020?

If it does ever get started, perhaps you should run a book on it’s final cost and completion date Jim ?

I reckon it will be closer to £60billion than 40, and finished in late 2021.

With the head honcho getting a knighthood from the king.
