Alan, I used to go to Peterborough Speedway, a chap named Vic Duggan, was the local hero in those days, Ever see him race, as he travelled to different meets all over the Country?.
As for that smell, once inhaled, never forgotten!!

    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

I don’t recall the name Jim, it was a long time ago though. I don’t recall too many of the names.

Seems that one of the girls was the daughter of the farmer, and the other the daughter of the local butcher.

Reminds me of a chap I once worked with.
He was a youngster living near RAF Southend during WWII. Whenever a German plane came down in the area, it was a race to see who could get there first.
The army or the kids. I imagine it was the same everywhere ?

Alan. Still can’t get it, but I get the gist, thanks.
I think Moggy is right, inasmuch as the only thing that should go into the tank is fuel. However, having said that, when I had an Aerial Golden Arrow, 2 stroke, I used Castrol “R”, juust to get the smell one gets at a race meeting. Ahh, yes, those were the days. 😀

This stuff doesn’t go into the tank, it’s not an additive.

That smell, that gasoline smell. It smells like when I used to go to the Speedway, The Rayleigh Rockets
    It smelt like Victory. 🙂

Alan, I don’t know if I have the dreaded gremlins in my comp, but cannot get the link, all I get is in the middle of the screen, is a circle going round, as if it’s loading, but it seems never ending, and nowt is coming through. Sounds interesting by the title.

The video (which works fine for me) is about a chemical engine cleaning process, shown being used on a Jaguar. It lowered it’s
emissions considerably to allow it to pass it’s MOT. Cost is around £70 and takes an hour.
Google “Terraclean”, to see other write ups.

Just to add, I have no interest in this company, and cannot personally endorse any of it’s claims.

Inside out is on Monday 7:30 Sky Ch.963

Or if you are outside of the area and don’t have Sky, I’m sure it will be on iPlayer.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be.

Two displays stick in my mind, both at Bentwaters.

Lightning taking off vertically to circa 30,000 ft.

Navy F4K, low level circuits at high speed, under low cloudbase. Compression streamers from wings going off like whip cracks.

It is photographed here with eleven year old schoolgirls Wendy Anderton and Cathie Jones. I wonder where both of them are, now?

I should imagine that an article in the local paper might bring results ?

Unfortunately we will never go back to the days of the truly exciting airshows. Those of us who witnessed shows
before all of the regulations came in, can count ourselves extremely fortunate.

One of my favourite cars was a Lancia Beta Coupe 1300cc.
Nice looking car, well put together. Very comfortable and quite nippy.

The big problem was corrosion. I eventually got rid of it when the clutch started to go.
