Who won it, and where did the UK come ?

Don’t know about that one, but we were at Audley End today (Sun), and there was a Hurricane flying around at 12:05pm.

It’s easy to propose legislation, quite another to get it adopted.
Then there are the European courts to contend with.

Well we picked up our Civic yesterday. First impressions are that it’s a really nice ride,
if anything quieter than our old Accord. Thanks to the CVT, very smooth acceleration.

I posted this on the Stow Maries thread, but it bears repeating here.

Anyone get over to the airfield at the weekend ?

We spent a pleasant four hours there on Sunday, not much in the way of flying going on, although the Tiger Club put on a
spirited display. I think a number of aircraft didn’t attend due to the strong crosswinds ? Although the “Dawn Patrol”
managed to put on a good display with their r/c scale replicas, given the conditions.

I had the pleasure of chatting to someone I knew in the ATC about 45yrs ago. Terry flys his Auster into Stow Maries for
quite a few of the events they hold.
Also had a nice conversation with a chap on the RAFA stand, telling me about his exploits flying (post war) around the
Far East in Dakotas, when he was a loadmaster.

The people at Stow Maries are doing a cracking job.

There is to my mind another influence – a very pronounced influence, on the interests of children especially boys. State primary schools are almost exclusively staffed by female teachers. Being female, their recreational teaching preoccupations are with ‘soft’ subjects such as needlework, cooking, knitting, skipping and group sporting activities such as rounders, netball and the like.

Quite right, added to the fact that many children don’t have a father living at home. So have little paternal influence at home or school.

Yes I do realize there are a lot of females involved in aviation. Not as many as there are men though.
