Children are inspired by seeing and hearing real aircraft.

On the military side: If their parents can’t afford to take them to any of the mega expensive airshows, or be lucky
enough to live close to one of the very few active air bases, they are unlikely to see any military aircraft flying at all.
As good as museums are, there is a generation who will never have witnessed a Lightning take off, or a Vulcan doing
a touch and go.

I wonder if some of the above aircraft were flying over Illustrious, moored in London ?

Two of the biggest factors against this estuary airport are:

1) It tends to suffer from fog during certain times of the year.

2) There are a lot of rather large sea birds in the area.

I suspect that there was a lot more to this story than was ever made public.

PZ865 BBMF was out and about today, maybe that one ?

I think we may be confusing hybrid with pure electric ?

As I mentioned before, I drove my friends wife’s Civic hybrid, and it wasn’t much different from driving my Accord,
and that was with four adults on board. Strange when you start it though, as there’s no starter motor turning over.
The fuel consumption isn’t anything to write home about, but the road tax is next to nothing.

Now a lot of the smaller diesels are very frugal on fuel, and also have low road tax. Although I have read that the
modern diesels don’t like too many short trips. They need to do more than 5 miles to get to an efficient operating
temperature.

My Berlingo van takes ages to warm up in the winter.
