Alan, If you use your Sat Nav as a speed indicator, why are you using indic8or as well, is it a “Belt and braces ” reason?.
    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

The Indic8or is always in my van, the sat nav only when I need to find an address I’m not sure of.
In the car I only use the sat nav.
I do have a Beltronics camera detector in the car, but that has stopped working.

Yes, slip of the finger on keyboard. Thanks for pointing that out.
I don’t want to labour the point, but I was sure they were naval variants, and it wasn’t just
the airframe or engines they were referring to at the time

Never mind, I bow to your superior knowledge 😉

It was a long time ago. I shall say no more

Doesn’t the Live Traffic only become effective on motorways and major routes ?

    I have a garmin,no complaints so far…
I only use it as a guide rather than follow it unquestioningly – but I find it really useful in the last couple of miles in (say) a strange town.
It also gives me an approx ETA and gives traffic warnings (although that is sometimes a little patchy).

I go along with that. You get to know how reliable they are by using them on a route you are familiar with.
They don’t always know about traffic hot spots, where you may get held up.

If going to a new area, I always consult the map first and write down a few notes.

The Sea King when it entered UK service in 1969 was state of the art for the era. It was an all weather ASW type that could prosecute a target in the seas of the North Atlantic. It’s auto hover capability was apparently amazing at the time! It had a superior systems fit to American SH-3D and was chosen over the Chinook for the role by the RN.

So I don’t quite see what you are getting at Alan.

It was stated in a documentary that I saw on TV some years ago. An RAF officer (I seem to remember) saying that the
technology on the Sea king was 20yrs out of date, by the time it came into service. May have been on Ark Royal ?
I don’t recall the Mark of aircraft in question.

I’m only repeating what was said.

I took this in 2009. Only using a point and shoot camera through a window on the ship we were on.
It was coming to pick up an injured crew member.

I agree with the £20.00. but they have to be given food, vets fees etc,
and many kids wouldn’t see them if they were not taken there on school trips etc.
I.M.H.O. it’s well worth the money.

Yes it is worth it, and I see they do a reduced entrance fee in the winter, as
you won’t get so much time there (do Duxford do that ? :)). To get value for money you need to
spend a whole day there, with the added cost of food and drink.

Regarding the big cats though, they are lovely to look at, but I still find it sad seeing beautiful animals
like that caged up. Even if they do have a big enclosure

I had a look at the demo video on SkyDemon. It looks pretty comprehensive.
Not cheap I should imagine ?
