As someone who has been self-employed for most of his working life, I
believe the people running the B & B, should have been free to impose
whatever rules they like.
The aggrieved party in this case were just trying to make a political point.
In much the same way that all of a sudden, a number of high profile
footballers are feigning shock and horror, and playing the racist card.
It wasn’t a bad series. Especially when you consider it was made for the
general TV watching public. Not for aviation enthusiasts who are looking out
for every historical mistake.
The last in the series, about Gabby Gabreski, was my least favourite episode.
Then again, there are no doubt still people around today who don’t realise
that it wasn’t only British pilots flying for the RAF during WWII.
If they got that message across, something has been achieved.
Thanks very much.
Yes – some excellent work by the Police, who kept the hundereds (if not thousands) of spotters under supervision, but let us largely go where we pleased (landside).
Going by a TV programme a little while back, they appreciate the swivels
looking out for dodgy looking characters. 🙂
The feeling may be that these subjects are catered for elsewhere ?
Although I do have a collection of patches, as well as mugs from the 48th TFW etc.
A couple of my T-Shirts have shrunk though 🙂

Go for the soft targets first.
I hope the police will be as diligent when going after those in the higher
echelons of society ?

Nice photos.
Listening to a phone-in programme a little while back, there were a lot of
football fans saying the same thing. That the fans at Hillsborough should have
been held partly to blame. The enquiry had to pin the blame on someone,
and the police were (yet again) required to be the “fall guys”.

My friend Graham Skellam flew both Hurricanes and P-47s in Burma (113 Squadron) and he says that flying the Thunderbolt was a job, flying the Hurricane was a pleasure.
One of my old customers used to tell me stories of him doing the same out in
the Far East, flying Hurricanes and P-47s that is. He did his flying training in
Canada. No idea of which squadron(s) he was with. His name was Pickard.
He emigrated out to either Australia or New Zealand some years ago, to where his
daughter was living.
Noisy cars or motorbikes can be a source of great irritation.
If it’s a race day it could go on for hours, and the noise can travel a long way.
Not nice when people have to sit indoors during the summer, with doors and
windows closed.
Nearly as bad as having to suffer from the stench of someone else’s BBQ.
What a great video 🙂
Looks like Primeministers Question time today lit a huge rocket in the middle of Westminister.

I think its the start of something rather huge and nasty.
It will certainly be interesting to see how far up the enquiries will be prepared, (or allowed) to go.
