I watched quite a bit of the questioning of Entwistle yesterday, and I must
admit that I found some of the questions badly thought out.

How did they expect him to know who was organising the coaches, which
were picking up the youngsters to appear on Top of the Pops, 40 odd years ago ?

The two enquiries which are now running, are supposed to look at this sort of
    thing.

You have to wonder, how deep will these enquiries be allowed to go.
Will they name deceased MPs and a past PM ?

Anyone have any idea of what might be happening on Remembrance Sunday, on the airfield ?

Have I got this wrong, or does this mean that the aircraft on display at the
IWM are being moved to Duxford ?

    Nice photos.

It must have been FKB I saw during the week. It was just disappearing into
clouds over my house after taking off.
I only go a brief glimpse and thought it was a 727 😮

They do it up very well internally, then ruin the outside with that awful decking.

If there is anything deeper, I think you would expect to make some finds close to the surface.
Not the sort of things a farmer would necessarily notice.

I’ve been on land where aircraft were alleged to have crashed during WWII, and found that
certain areas are littered with small pieces of aluminium etc. Bigger bits having been chopped up by
ploughs and discs long ago. The problem with surface finds is, they tend to move around, so are
not always an accurate indication of where deeper remains may be.

……….. Would a metal detector help, and would this be legal and ethical? (I’m an experienced detectorist)………..
    Charles Butcher

As you will be aware, as long as you have permission from the landowner, there is nothing
to stop you detecting (as far as I am aware) for surface finds. Most of which will have been
    well shredded by the farmer.

Digging any deeper than a few inches might be another matter, and one which I am not
    qualified to offer an answer.

Last night’s programme about Robin Olds wasn’t too bad. As long as you
accept it was made for the general public, rather than aircraft enthusiasts.
For people who have never heard of Col. Robin Olds, inaccuracies in details are irrelevant.

I have seen it done a lot better though, on Discovery’s “Dogfight” series.

Next week it’s the Polish pilot Gabby Gabreski

People keep asking, ” Why is it only now that people are coming forward ?”

As has been said many times, “A lot of them did come forward, but were either not believed, or told to keep quiet”.

If you look at the latest story from John Simpson, it’s obvious that the BBC
    knew what was going on.
