I honestly don’t know, but factors to bear in mind are airframe fatigue life, engine cycles and of course the critical issue of funding.

I really just try and enjoy every display I get to see, as you never really know whether you’ll ever get to see it airborne again.

Barring mechanical issues, I do hope that when they decide to call it a day, they do a tour of Britain to let us see it just one more time. For those who cant get to the major airshows.

Trouble is its alright being an armchair preservationist, but if they had said if you want it come and get and I want it off the premises in a weeks time. How many people would actually have moved to save it?

Especially when you consider there are still around 23 still flying, and another
50 or so on display, or in various states of preservation around the world.

I’m sure the owners of the aircraft must have weighed up the various options ?

The materials use in house building in the States, tends to vary with the area
they are built in, although timber seems to be the most popular.
It is interesting to see the different techniques used out there too.

I used to be a big fan of “This Old House”. A programme they have tried
unsuccessfully to emulate over here.

No doubt it was heavily corroded, so probably worth more as scrap ? (unfortunately)

I’ve never gotten around to watching this series.

One I did watch though when I was an awful lot younger, was Moonstrike.
A precursor to Secret Army. It was about the Lysander operations to Europe.
