I was referring more to the spelling in your post “…snipers on board will petrol London…” 😀
There was a lot of helicopter activity on Wednesday night, with an exercise in
the Thames Estuary

Thanks chaps.
I think that possibly the tankard and badge are not connected. In as much as
it may have been an existing tankard given to a wife or girlfriend. With what
I believe to be the “Sweetheart badge” attached.

RAF accused over multi-billion Voyager contract
The RAF may be paying billions of pounds too much for its new, air-to-air
refuelling Voyager aircraft, the BBC has discovered.
(No change there then )

Since when did the RAF buy their own aircraft ?
If it is proven to be pilot error, it shouldn’t affect sales.
Neither, we cant afford them
Did the helicopter stay afloat ?
A great character indeed. In these days of doing everything by the book, and
adhering to every silly H & S rule, you wonder if there will be anyone to
replace him, or those like him.
My Brother in Law likes watching Ice Pilots. Says it reminds him of what
Channel Airways used to be like. 🙂
Was it one of these which had a heavy landing at Fairford a few years ago ?
Perhaps the RAAF have different needs to that of the USAF. ?
Yes, RIP. Tried to show off and clipped that ridge?
I know that there will be the forum police telling us not to speculate as to the
possible causes. Although David Learmount did point out that there have been
a number of accidents over the years, by pilots of new aircraft trying to
impress passengers and potential customers. Of course there could have
been a number of causes. I would have thought that the CVR should reveal a
lot.
I’m hearing a crash site had been found, aircraft split into at least two sections with bodies scattered around 🙁
No mention of this on RT news at 10pm. Although there was an interview
with David Learmount from Flight Global, with his theories on what may have
happened.
