………… the entire programme suggested that the raid was a one off.

Something which I’m sure a lot of people still believe.

Nice pictures, I don’t get there in the mornings as much as I used to.
Are they keeping the cafe in the old terminal open for the time being ?

This is important WW II history and important to many in the UK & Denmark on what took place here. Hope all is well with you Sir….is the old control tower at Bodney still standing ? If you happen to drive by ….offer it a salute from BlueNoser352.

I haven’t seen the tower, but this is at the camp. Often up that way to see my parents in Watton.

Alan, a mixture of both. Two seat versions for training.

Thanks. I was just wondering if the reason for the Tornado upgrades, was for
practical reasons as well as financial ?

I remember talking to some German aircrew about 11yrs ago, and they were
saying they preferred a two seat aircraft in a combat situation, as their
Phantoms had performed well against single seat adversaries at Red Flag
competitions. Finding that technology aside, two sets of eyes are usually
better than one. With the pilot of single seater, often suffering information
overload.

Are the children really in charge? Certainly they place demands on the parents and to bring up an intelligent, polite, well rounded child requires investing a lot of time and effort, no different to a well trained dog or horse.

Whilst putting children at the centre of the family group is important, letting them actually be in charge is just asking for trouble, kids need boundaries as they grow.

I use the term “in charge” in it’s loosest form. As you say kids need boundaries.
It seems many parents are unable, or unwilling to set boundaries for their children, and
seem surprised when others find this objectionable.

It is a shame that things have gone the way they have.
As someone commented on TV.

When I was young we did as we were told, as parents were in charge.
Now I’ve grown up, it’s the children who are in charge, with everyone dancing
to their tune.

Put a child in a group of older people, and it nearly always becomes the centre
of attention.

Quite so. My beloved and I recently enjoyed a mini break at a child free country hotel. The company we booked with, specialises in the provision of holidays for those of us not keen on kids. ……..

We went on one of those breaks to North Wales, about three years ago.

Very nice it was too. 🙂

This may have already been mentioned ?, but some of the parts used in the French made Exocet missiles, were manufactured in England.

I can only guess that those complaining either have never had children of their own or would advocate some sort of physical punishment.

Guess all you like.
I still have a very low tolerance level when it comes to other people’s children.
Especially in an enclosed space such as an aircraft.

….. My wife (who is a woman), and who works in the insurance business (but not car insurance) has just pointed that insurance companies also age-discriminate, which is also illegal in the EU…

The age discrimination works against older drivers as well as young.

On balance I think the insurance companies get it right.
