BBC Radio 2 are treating it as if somebody important had died, using words like “legend”
He was a boy band member who hung around in gents toilets. Is that all it takes to be a legend today?
Moggy
Those thought’s did cross my mind, but I assumed I’d be criticised for speaking ill of the dead.
Couldn’t stand the bloke or his music. Still sad that someone of that age should pass away though.
Rick Parfitt, just passed away at 68 ! :apologetic:
Fantastic work you are doing, it must be very rewarding to look back on the progress you’ve made.
Well done !!
Good news for F-III enthusiasts.
It’s one of those aircraft I would have loved to have had a flight in. Maybe due to the side by side seating.
One of my Dad’s old neighbours in Norfolk, worked on the safety equipment on these at Lakenheath, and managed
to get as couple of flights. An amazing aircraft by all accounts.
I wish them well.
One thing they should do in my opinion (for those who have no idea where Bottisham is) , is to put a map on the first page of their website.
The same with their Facebook page. First impressions count.
Nice set of photos !
It made me smile to read about the HH-60G crew interacting with the kids. Very cool.
USAF Personnel do seem to have public relations down to a fine art. Well done them !
A bad year for Emerson Lake and Palmer 🙁
As others have said, this is the most dignified end for her.
Nice pictures. Even with the weather out there, they must take a lot of looking after.
Duxford Sunday 27th November:
A team from Monarch were re-fitting the Britannia’s elevators today:
I showed that picture to my Brother in Law. He was one of the people who re-fitted them the last time they were off.
He has a number of stories about when the aircraft was first at Duxford. One being that they asked someone from Monarch to
come and release the propeller brakes. They advised against doing this, as once they were off they weren’t easy to re apply, and
the props being so well balanced would windmill in the slightest breeze, which would be dangerous.
The people at Duxford insisted it was done. Anyway, someone went and released them, and for some time afterwards the props
blades were tied up with ropes 🙂
There is a lot to be said on this matter, but I think it will lead to the thread being swiftly deleted.
rather than bleat he was cheating. Did it change the result?
No it didn’t change the result, and I wasn’t bleating.
Why though, when you know you are not exactly the most popular person in the pit lane, would you go out of your way to
dig yourself into an even deeper hole ? If Rosberg had lost out due to his team mate’s tactics, Hamilton may now be looking for another job.
I doubt if any other team would touch him with a barge pole.
I’m really glad Rosberg won this year’s championship, even though I no longer follow the sport.
Hamilton is such a bad loser, virtually resorting to cheating in the last race. Reading various reports,
he doesn’t seem to be very popular amongst the other drivers. Way behind Jensen Button in the popularity polls.
Good luck, lets hope there are no unpleasant surprises.
