    Adblock Plus

It might also be worth running CCleaner or Malwarebytes ?

My only complaint would be that they run the Gift Aid process back-to-front compared to all other museums I know of; i.e. you pay MORE to get in and have to recover the extra cost via your tax return. That seems a bit perverse.

That is a bone of contention not only at Brooklands, where we must visit.

At Chatham Naval Dockyard, They now charge £22 for an adult or £19.50 for concessions. Justifying this by saying you can visit as many times
as you like in 12 months. Ok if you live close by, but not if you are some distance away, or on holiday. It seems they have to offer this deal in
    order to get grants.
I don’t know how this has affected visitor numbers, but Duxford seemed to manage without resorting to exorbitant entrance fees.

The nearby German midget submarine also has an interesting history.

IWM aren’t responsible for TFC, or ARCo, or any of the other private operators!

What is the arrangement with private operators at Duxford, do they pay rent to the IWM ?

When many years ago I enquired why you had to pay to enter Duxford, and other IWM sites were free, I was told it was
    because private companies operated there.

Is the Hunter not XE585, which was coded ‘Q’ with the D.F.L.S. in the 1950’s…?

    Simon

Yes, on closer examination you may indeed be correct. The photos were taken by my Brother-in-Law when he was on National Service. After which he returned to Southend.

It seems to have ended up in India as a T.Mk 66 ?

I don’t see the problem in making a comparison. They performed many of the same roles,
    even if their performance differed.

What a great shame. We can only hope that this isn’t the first of many for 2017 !
