On Saturday (yesterday!) a Dragon Rapide flying over Hackney, Clissold Park at 3PM.

Possibly this one G-AEDU ? Flying through the overhead at Southend, South to North.
At the time the BBMF Hurricane was taking off for Old Warden. (about 5pm)

    Sorry about the quality

Edit: I’m surprised nobody noticed my mistake ?

Well they were nearly right about a Spitfire coming into Southend on Saturday.
It actually turned out to be Hurricane LF363. Flown in by S/L Mark Discombe. The Hurricane was chosen, as it could
handle the crosswinds better than the Spitfire, or so we were told by Mark, who came over and had a chat with us.

He did a few flypasts on his way to Southend, then went off to Old Warden. Returning to Conningsby just before 1pm on Sunday.

Doesn’t the Parachute regiment lease one ?
Or is that one of those you mentioned ?

Personally, I don’t see it ever happening with a commercial passenger carrying aircraft.

Millionaire ex-pop star Bob Geldof reverts to type.
He and his champagne swilling mates trying to disrupt a protest by British fishermen, whose industry was decimated by the EU.

Watching the video of the Oxford Union debate, you can see why Prime Minister’s question time is akin to a drunken sixth form debating society.

I see that in respect of the murdered MP Jo Cox, campaigning has been suspended.

I always understood that in this country there was a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

    Up to a point yes.

Although Jimmy Savile was never found guilty in a court of law.

The link to Madeleine McCann is interesting, even if rather tenuous.

A lot of people will vote to stay in, as they are frightened of change. Worried about Cameron’s Leap in the Dark.
They think that if we stay in, we will just carry on as we are now. Poor deluded souls 🙁

We went to Canvey this afternoon. Just pulled up in the car park and the heavens opened (again). Thankfully the sky cleared just before she appeared.

“A Bridge too Far” is interesting, but not everyone’s cup of tea…being a rather anti-war war film.

It had it’s critics, but I thought it was pretty accurate in it’s portrayal of events.

Kelly’s heroes stands out for me, I think I must be nearly word perfect. 🙂

Phew! You had me worried there: I always look forward to the Reds display so that I can get to the car and out of the car park before Joe Public.

    So not all bad news.

Yes, that used to be the cue to leave when we attended Mildenhall. Which complicated matters when they flew earlier 🙂
