Happily they were not needed in this instance.

I dont think we can say that with any certanty. What we do know is that they were made innert, so he didn’t have the option – And I dont mean anything bad by that statement.

Does the Bronco have ejection seats ?

The ejection seats on the Bronco had been deactivated. It was clearly marked within the danger triangle on the side of the aircraft. My father and i were talking with the pilot at Waddington about why they dont fly with live seats. Basically because its a very safe aircraft and they dont fly in combat!

I wish them a very speedy recovery.

Everettaero – They buy and sell aircraft – It’s Everett who bought the Jaguar fleet when they were retired from RAF service.

Does that mean they’ll be back on the market then?

I don’t see any problem with it, especially with the more modern types. It would be a shame to see a WW2 warbird covered in filler, but I’m sure my cockpit section will end up have a fair amount of filler on her! And I have a friend whos filling some dents on a hunter… It works well so why not!

Am I the only person on here who would like to see this aircraft recovered and returned to flight? Sadly, due to the apparent vandalism she is no longer the time capsule that we first saw. It’s sad to see what people have done to her. If the options are to display her as she is now, to full restoration, I think I’d opt for full restoration.

Well I guess the Buccaneer is next then.

I read on another forum that the Buc will also be scrapped.

Obviously a lack of interest in preserving aircraft like this in NI… Both were available on the open market.

Just seen the Flying Legends flying list, To be honest I am very underwhelmed by it. Yes there is going to be a P47 razorback flying and a P38. But where the hell has all the P51’s gone and Hurricanes. The Airshow used to be awesome with tons of warbirds flying.

Based on the photos that I’ve seen so far, I think you were right to be underwhelmed. Yes, it was still a great show, but there was nothing to get overexcited about there.

I think anyone who missed the show this year will be able to see exactly the same next year… And hopefully a bit more too.

I know saying anything bad on here about legends is a big no no… And yes, I know I didn’t take my own B29 to the show, but if you look at it pragmatically, I don’t think that looked like a great legends. Good, but not overwhelming.

ppp, if we’re generalising, and stereotyping people, I’d say I’ve seen FAR more trouble in my local pubs caused by Students than I’ve ever seen caused by soldiers.

You can defend the actions of the landlord as much as you like, but I think his own actions post event prove that he got it wrong on this occasion.

Also, yes, I know that a landlord can refuse entry to someone who they think will cause trouble… That is perfectly reasonable. What is not reasonable is to say, you’re a soldier in uniform, therefore you’re likely to cause trouble. That is unacceptable.

IF those soldiers had already had a ‘skin full’… Then yes, it may have been justified. But as it was, this was an overreaction by the landlord, and I think he accepts that.
